Jumbo Document Storage Tube Black - Expandable from 31.5" up to 53" - Shoulder Strap and Handle Included for Poster Tube Model DT4201

I bought this to store/transport part of my display case when I travel to trade shows. It works well for this application. My only beef is the locking mechanism (a twist/cam) does not lock the tube length very strongly and the tube can come undone.

The tube extension mechanism does not lock - the length that you set it at doesn't stay put - it collapses and crushes the end of the paper roll inside. The handle slides onto a dovetailed interlock - and slides right off - have your tube go rolling down an airport escalator while you are left with the handle - the strap detail is poorly designed and can't be adjusted properly. I have owned many paper roll Tubes - there are some crummy ones out there - but this wins the position of the worst. For a blow-molded piece of plastic, it is also priced too high even if it worked well.

This tube is great, with good quality threading on the ends. It's plenty large enough for my needs (storing and carrying posters mostly) that I won't have to extend it, but the extension mechanism seems well made and easy to use if needed.

You're better of buying some PVC and making your own. It's sturdy enough, except when fully extended. The plastic is stiffer than some other commercial tubes, but not rigid. The strap is not designed well and cumbersome to use except at certain heights. It was dropped once from of about three feet while empty. lt landed on its top and shattered the cap.

Nice little Storage tube and in a great size! I use it to store 5 fishing rods and it works great and stores neatly and out of the way. I just toss it in the trunk and away we go to the lake. Good Stuff.

Handled the rigors of international airline travel. I didn't check it but it was just fine as a carry on. All of the items I had inside made it without a crease or other damage. The strap was sufficient and the handle worked reasonably well... wish it would move a bit further to balance the tube and lock in place... minor issues. The larger diameter means items retained less curl and I was able to store other mounting materials in it as well.

My first one broke after only 3 uses. i contacted customer service and they were great, sending me out a replacement.

This storage tube is junk. Length adjustment doesn't work because there's no way to lock it down on the size you want. I had to use tape to keep it at the size I wanted. Look elsewhere. This storage tube sucks!
