perfect head! 😈
I got this head as a quick replacement a few years ago when my old stinky remo head broke, and wow! I probably discovered my new head of choice. I put it on my snare and all the stars aligned! The durability from a two ply head is great, it sounds great, it was an easy tuning process, and the frosted coat looks great! The reverse dot definitely adds to the sound. Will forever love Evans, a bang for your buck!

Great response and tone
Great response and tone. I use it on a 13” brass snare. My favorite head I’ve used.

Excellent Head
I purchased these along with many other heads for my entire set. Lets just simply say that these are the best heads on the market. The first look just astounds you. Its definitely a durable head. Ive used this for the past year or so and i just sounds better with age. I even bought a new one and just realized that there was truly no need for it! But the key elements here are that these are made wonderfully, and just sound better. I first used REMO, but always seemed to find that they just didnt last long, and i just had to constantly replace them not because i am a heavy hitter, just that they arent made like EVANS. It is easy to tune, and can basically be used in any setting or type of play. So simply dont question any other ones... GO EVANS!

Great head
I've been addicted to evans EC2 tom heads for the past year. I had to replace my snare head, which was an evans genera. I've always been an evans fan so I wanted to try a new evans snare head. I saw this one of amazon for free shipping and a decent price, so I thought I would give it a try. I have to agree with other reviewers... Tuning this head is a little different that other heads I have used. At first, it sounded too low with the snares turned off, but sounded alright when the snares were turned on. I played on it for a bit and decided it was still too low. So i cranked up the tension and now it sounds much better. Its extremely durable, great for heavy hitting drummers. I tried this out on my birch snare. Next will be to try it on my steel snare. I would recommend this for any snare drum! It is a versatile head and has a wide range that it can be tuned to while still haivng good sound and tone. It is built tough too, I expect this head to last me awhile.

I will be switching all of my snare drums to this head--the search is over.
I will be switching ALL of my snare drums to this head. Why? the sound is PERFECT! the tuning is PERFECT! Produces rich VOLUME for brushes that will last for the life of the head. It is NOT CLEAR! It is NOT WHITE! It is a lovely OPAQUE FROST! By far, it is the most beautiful head I have ever seen and it is a perfect match for the Ludwig Super Phonic aluminum alloy shell as oppose to ugly old white, white, white, or a big ugly black black dot on white. The silver center dot has a really slick, brushed 21st century metal look to it and...well... IT'S JUST GOT CLASS! It DOES NOT have a cheesy sprayed on "ruff-coat" finish but the surface is ETCHED (like the Evans jazz head) for brush use...VERY easy to clean any of that dark residue you get from wire brushes. Included a shot next to my 5 1/2 Millennium snare that has a Remo Renaissance head. I use a 200 or 300 clear on the snare side and Pure Sound snares. Sorry Remo...Evans just ate your lunch.
