Fantastic, flexible grill
I definitely recommend getting a second grill accessory if you want to cook for more than a few people. With the second grill insert, the grill is large enough to cook hamburgers for a small crowd or steaks for a few people. It heats up quickly, and I love that I can cook eggs or pancakes on the griddle accessory. I also bought the stove grate for additional cooking options while camping or in case of a power failure. The grill was easy to set up (I got the hose accessory to connect it to a 20 lb. propane tank.), to light, and to use. Clean up was a breeze since everything is non-stick - as long as you have a place to dump the greasy water (don't dump it down the drain!). Only downside, people have raved about being able to put the accessories in the dishwasher...none of them fit in my dishwasher without impeding the dishwasher arm, so I had to hand wash them. If you need the grill to be portable, I recommend getting the bag accessory with wheels because it would be a bit awkward to carry otherwise. Make sure you follow the instructions so you don't make mistakes that others have written about (use water in the grease drip pan to reduce the chance of flare-ups, use only wooden or plastic utensils, use sponges with abrasive sides that are safe to use on non-stick surfaces). Also, if you're using only one side of the grill, remove the other side's accessory so that it doesn't get greasy. (Maybe this is a no-brainer, but I used the grill twice before having this ah-ha moment while cleaning the unused griddle for the second time.)

A good small barbeque, well designed
I read several reviews of this grill, and also the red one with wheels, before purchasing it. I somehow got the impression you could cook with the top down on this one, although understood you can't on the red one. I would probably have gotten the one with wheels had I called Coleman, which I did AFTER the grill was delivered. The Coleman customer service fellow confirmed that they "don't recommend cooking with the lid down." We like our meat cooked clear through (no blood visible), so this was a problem. I solved it by using some metal shelf bracers, which I line up with the open side down and the pointed side up, 3 in a row, which holds the lid up enough to keep the handle away from the heat, but still cooks everything through. Incidentally, the instruction book is not really clear about the lid issue. It says to keep the lid up while lighting it - but not while cooking with it - but Coleman recommends not cooking with it down also, as the handle might melt. It would have been a lot more intelligent for Coleman to offer options for handles - with unmeltable being one option and meltable being another! - and at least make the one on here removable so you can rig up something yourself if you want to put the lid down. Despite this, I like the grill, it's a nice size, and I like the griddle and stove top burner options - makes it great for cooking when it's too hot in the kitchen. I made roasted vegetables on the griddle side and salmon on the grill at the same time, for a full dinner without using the stove in the kitchen. I find the 'non-stick' grill difficult to get clean - the grease seems to stick to it and I have to soak it for hours to get it clean; and will probably invest in the cast iron options soon. This is our first barbeque and we will get lots of use from it. I don't want to sound as though I don't like it - but I do want to make sure everyone knows what to expect. I am still trying to figure out if the wheels would have been worthwhile. We won't be moving this around that much, and it's certainly lightweight enough to carry if we do - so I think this is a fine option. Overall, I think it's a good choice. Since we got a good shipping price from Amazon, it was worth buying it online rather than locally - something to think about.

Great grill!
We received one of these for a gift and used it constantly for at least 10 years, but it finally rusted out. We bought another grill, but it just didn't perform as well as this one does, so we replaced it with another of these. We love it--whether we're cooking fish, hamburgs, steaks, chicken, even bacon, it cooks evenly and well, uses propane very sparingly, and cleans up easily. Griddle option is nice for some things. We sometimes use a frying pan on the grill section. Good for two people or a small group--though not for a big crowd. A bit heavier than some other Coleman grills--I'm not sure I'd want to use it for tailgating or camping, but for everyday use, it's terrific. At the same time, it's bit light to stand up to heavy wind, so we bring it in when storms approach. Overall, we prefer it to our stove!

Excellent Grill!
We bought this Coleman Road Trip Grill for my parents for Christmas. We already have this same grill which we use when we go camping and/or tailgating. This grill is very sturdy as it has four legs sitting on a wider base. There are levelers on the leg bottoms to help keep your food in place. We have also purchased the extra grate, rolling grill bag and the large griddle for this grill. It is a snap to set up, super fast & easy to grill on, quick clean up and storing it in the rolling grill bag is a plus! We highly recommend this grill! Such a great deal buying this thru Amazon.com -vs- buying at a local outfitter or anywhere else online. Thanks Amazon!

camp BBQ
We bought this grill as an alternative to a larger home BBQ. This is a great little BBQ for camping (which of course it what it is made for). For home grilling it has been great too, it heats up fast, and cooks evenly. The only thing I am not crazy about is the clean up. The pan liner that you are supposed to fill with water is hard to clean without spilling the greasy water all over the place. The black grill pieces do clean nice, but you have to be careful with a spatula to not scratch the finish off. I haven't used the griddle pan that we got as an option yet. Overall I would say this is a good grill, but like I said the clean up is a hassle.

Melt Down
I purchased this grill a bout a year ago. It works fine but the grease does accumulate beneath the grill and you must keep a grease cleaning agent with you at all times to keep clean. Now after 1 year of fairly good use, the entire front panel melted. I have no idea how or why but it is now pretty much worthless. I have written to Coleman to find out the cause. Last used was to cook only a few hot dogs and nothing else. I did not leave the gas on by mistake as I disconnected the propane after each use. the gas control knobs were int he off position also when I tried to use the next time. I usually buy Coleman because of the quality and do not mind paying the difference in price but not sure anymore. UPDATE Coleman has offered a new grill and apologized on the melt down of the old grill. Turns out the regulators can sometimes malfunction. It really does pay to purchase from a great company.

Looks like the supports are not enough to hold in place
We used it camping and the inside tin warped and bent. Looks like the supports are not enough to hold in place. We also got storage bag and the bottom stand and grill will not fit into bag. I am very disappointed.

Portable, flexible, easy to clean up and durable.
We did not have a lot of room on our deck for a massive grill and wanted to move from charcoal to propane. After shopping online we decided on the Coleman Road Trip grill.. even though I wanted it in dark green like most Coleman products I settled for the blue. It arrived and was extremely simple to assemble. We immediately fired it up and proceed to cook our first meal. Successfully done and the group of 6 for dinner all happy campers. We have owned this grill for several years and love it. It has a large enough of a cooking surface and is flexible enough to meet all your outdoor cooking needs. We purchased another grill side of cast iron and a trivet for a pot so that we can grill, griddle/fry, cook in a pot all on one portable grill. The Road Trip is so easy to keep clean and is great with the stand which folds up and stores in a small space. You can also purchase a case that keeps it all together a protected when in storage. Highly recommend this product.
