TAKAMA66" 3 Section Flip Video Camera Tripod withFluid Drag Head

I wanted a tripod to compare to the one that I bought about 10 years ago and still have. I paid about $80-$100 for the tripod back then. When I opened the Takama tripod, I was impressed on how sturdy it looked. I have not had a chance to use it in day to day shooting yet, but so far, I am very impressed. This tripod is comparable to tripods costing twice as much or more.

Would give 5 stars but floating head needs a bit of improvement. My use was for a scope and not really made for that. Camera and video applications are best. Do not recommend for telescopes or sporting s ones.

Great tripod! Shipped overnight which was a great and pleasant surprise. Second one I’ve purchased for video work. Very fluid motion, sturdy and highly adjustable. Very nice carrying case. Price is a great value! Worth much more than the cost!

Caution: After using it for about an year and a half, the other day cracked the head. Used it for birding all that time with no complaints whatsoever. It was cold, I wasn't paying attention, over tighten the horizontal knob and bum - it cracked. The head is plastic. It started oozing the white grease which is inside (the fluid, I guess). Entirely my fault. Or may be the head should be metal?!Structurally not impaired, rotating fine, but the head is cracked. I can still use it, but decided to order a new one.It is the best tripod I found for my Celestron Ultima 80 scope. Perfect match. Never used it with a camera but perfect for this particular scope.Smooth and light and stable. Strong also, unless you crack the head. Even after this it is working.Can walk for miles with this thing and the scope on my shoulder.

My wife and I are professional photographers and videographers. We really liked this tripod, but the screw on the camera plate broke off on our DSLR...and it's not replaceable. I wrote the seller and got no response. It's a lot of money for a part that you can't replace. We've never had this happen on any of the tripods we've had, ever, cheap or expensive.

This tripod has a nice length handle for panning and tilting. There is a variable drag in addition to locking screws for both. The head pans and tilts effortlessly and smoothly, better than any tripod I've ever owned. I can't imagine a better product for 2 to 3 times the money. I only wish I'd ordered a pair, since it doesn't seem to be available for ordering, anymore.

I Despite expecting a more compact size, this Tripod has the technology of a Tripod twice as expensive. I have not worked with him yet 100%. Good packaging of adorama well protected, very good for the price.

No problems arrived on time would buy again.
