This product contains many different types of nuts.
Gingerbread generally doesn’t have nuts, so I never thought to even check the ingredients against my walnut allergy. In fact there are 4 different kinds of nuts in this cookie and they are rather nasty because of their inclusion. It gives the cookie a texture that a true gingerbread lover would never expect and probably, like me, immediately regret not reading the label.Gingerbread is supposed to be like bread, a moist cinnamon-like, bread-like texture that almost melts in your mouth. It’s not ginger snaps, it’s gingerBREAD.This also had another strange coating on the bottom that had the texture of paper. I at first thought it EAST paper until I realized that it was dissolving into the spilt milk on the plate.I think it some sort of hardened sugar substance that isn’t quite a frosting and isn’t decorative either. This whole cookie is confusing to me. Call me old fashioned, unworldly, I accept the titles. Just give me a good old fashioned delicious gingerbread cookie like my Aunt Marion used to make.

Better than expected. Very fresh and soft.
I had these on my wishlist for over a year. Not sure how I found them but I love gingerbread cookies. Did not get them right away because they were fairly expensive, about $15. Ended up purchasing these when their price dropped to ~$10 (with Prime) or less.LOTS of reviews stating their negative experience with these. Many reviews mention freshness and such. This is always a gamble when getting food online, I have found. Mine were very, very soft with a nice gingerbread flavor. Another things lots of the reviews mention is the odd texture. The bottom of each cookie has a sugar coating that is kind of airy and chewy, so I can see where people get the "paper" texture from now. All I can say is this was not a huge issue with mine but I get it. I can imagine some of you will not get as high quality freshness with your order but I hope you do because these cookies were great.I recommend these if you like soft gingerbread cookies. Hopefully your order is as good as mine was.

Backing, edible??
Overall, the cookie is good. I'm not sure whether the back is edible or not, so I peel it off.

Good ginger bread cookies
It seems hard to find ginger bread or ginger bread cookies now a days. These were not as close to the ginger bread cookies i wanted, but close enough I guess. They were good as in delish though. Hope the company will continue to make them and stay in business. We are loosing so many old style foods it seems.

Terrible; awful product
Was looking for a soft gingerbread cookie from Weissella once received as a gift which had an excellent flavor and texture. Couldn't find the same Weissella gingerbread cooked so got these instead. Big mistake. Horrible! If there were negative stars, these should get them. So much wrong. Overpriced even for a good cookie which these were not. Cost nearly 17 US dollars - six cookies arrived - you do the math. Package arrived partially crushed, cookies deformed. OK, that's online ordering. But flavor was bad - not ginger cookie but a sour sort of fruitcake like flavor. OK, that's what you get for buying food on-line. BUT the cookies were dried out, crumbling and cracking apart - except the bottoms which were stuck up on some sort of paper. I mean really stuck, like melted into the paper. You cannot remove this paper thing from the dry crumbing cookie except by prying/ tearing the bottom half of the cookie off. Vendor should be ashamed of selling such a nasty inedible thing. I would have thrown the remainders straight out the back door for the raccoons except that these are probably toxic to the animals, and even raccoons shouldn't eat paper. Also note - they arrived really fast in the the Western US for something that should have come from Germany. Probably were stored in someone's garage since last year. Complete waste of money, wish I could get all mine back - worst purchase I ever made..
