Q: will these work properly for stripping awg sized wire and if so what sizea of awg can it strip?

The stripper hole sizes are given in mm-area, I believe,,, so you just have to use the closest one there is, they may not fit exactly. The largest stripper size (6.0) will fit a #30 drill bit (.1285" diameter), and the smallest (.75) will fit a #58 drill bit (.042" diameter). So the largest size corresponds to AWG #8 size, and the smallest size would correspond to AWG #18 size.
