Excellent for guitar neck, and for rifle stocks...and other things.
Used this on a guitar neck, raw maple.... Super easy, perfect finish for a guitar neck. 5 thin coats, smoothed with 0000 steel wool in between each coat.

A Good Finish.
I have used it for years, produces a good built up oil finish.

Better Than I Honestly Expected
Usually costlier is better, or so we think, right? After deciding to refinish a Hawken muzzleloader I'd built from a kit many years ago, I tried another finish recommended on an online muzzleloading forum but wasn't crazy about the results. I had some Tru-Oil on the shelf that I'd purchased some time back for kit pistol (which I still haven't built!) because I knew I wouldn't need much for that project. I tried the Tru-Oil on my rifle stock and was pleasantly surprised by how good it looked. Decided to finish the whole stock with it, and it came out great. I'm always suspicious of five-star reviews and think they must have been paid or received a free product or something, but this isn't one of those. I'm just a guy really happy to find an affordable product you can buy almost anywhere that works really well. Sometimes you're just paying for the name, or for the expectation that pricier must be better (Think Orvis, for example.) Happy discovery. The Birchwood Casey wax, on the other hand, was a disappointment, But I digress.

NOTHING BETTER
Easy to use, builds up a nice finish, even the pros, use it. The only downside is it can cause the lid to stick. Simple fix get some Saran wrap and use a piece big enough to cover the bottle mouth and then some. Wrap should just stick out under the cap.

Used for guitar finishing
Lots of versatility for guitar finishing. With many, many of coats and a lot of patience you can get a unique and imperfect high-gloss finish that will wear to a vintage look quicker than waiting for a lacquer to degrade. In my case, that's exactly what I was going for. These are both about 30-40 coats applied over the course of 2 weeks, wet-sanded and polished after an additional 3 weeks of curing.
