Outstanding lock for trailer
Used this for a recent 1200 mile trip with a large Uhaul cargo trailer. The lock fit perfectly and I feel the trailer was very secure. The lock is unique and takes some getting used to when installing it. However, it is a quick learn and the engineering of the lock to provide excellent security is genius.

Serious security!
Pros:Have to turn key both directions to open. Makes it harder to pick.Cover makes it hard to cut with typical manual cutters.Cons:Harder to operate, tricky, but just follow the directions. The added shackle piece wouldn't fit on my storage unit slide latch. Had to use a cutoff saw to remove one side. Expected issue.Clever design. American made! Protects all of my stuff in storage.

It's a secure lock and a good buy.
The media could not be loaded. I needed a lock to secure my bike. I bought this particular lock primarily because of a review of it by a superb lock picker on You Tube called "The LockPickingLawyer," who is clearly an informed lock guy and talented picker. He described this lock as "...the most impressive security wise laminated padlock that I've seen in a while." He also said, "...from the usability standpoint it's a bit of a pain in the butt." And I think he's right on both counts. It does strike me as a rather smart design (security wise), it's well built, and it looks pretty cool. But it can be a tad cumbersome to deal with, the lock comes apart in 3 pieces when locking/unlocking (shackle/guard/lock body). But for someone like me who lives a slow lifestyle taking a few extra seconds to "assemble" the lock is no big deal. But if I were a guy in a hurry I might find it a bit annoying to have to deal with the few added steps--and pieces-- it takes for locking and unlocking. At first I thought, no way am I going through this every time. But after about five practices I found to be not much more effort than your typical padlock. The pay off in this arrangement is that the key has to be turned twice for unlocking (and locking), and so any picker has the added pain of having to get past this double locking action to remove the shackle and guard. And considering how easy most padlocks can be picked by a good picker this feature seemed rather important to me. Even a novice picker might get lucky and "rake" it open, but then they'd have to get lucky twice. To me this is almost like having 2 locks in one. I like the shackle guard for the protection it gives against cutting or brute forcing the shackle. I also like that the lock has rubber padding around the bottom to prevent scratching your goods.I think this was a good buy. It seemed the optimal choice for locking my $275.00 bike, and I reviewed dozens of padlocks in the 25-$50 price range. No bike is ever 100% secure from theft, but at least I can feel confident I made the best security effort all things considered. And that's really all we can do, right? Rating a product is a very subjective thing. I give it four stars, only because 3 seems too few and 5 seems too many. I'm attaching a short vid of me using it. Please excuse the black and white tape. The small white tape is so I can quickly identify which side the longer shackle end goes in.

Amazing lock, but takes practice to use.
A few months back I was at my Globo-Gyms in one of the shadier areas of town, and I got a notice from my bank that someone had tried to use my debit card at a gas station. I finished up my set and went and saw that my flimsy combo lock had been busted and my bag stolen-- including my wallet. I'm still trying to replace my RealId.I did some research and found this lock from Commando Lock.It has mixed reviews, but I feel like most of the negatives can be mitigated.Despite being reasonably compact, this lock is heavy, like you could put it in a sock and use it as a deadly weapon. The shackle guard makes it incredibly hard to cut, and it also blocks access to the vulnerable part of the lock where the shackle enters the body. While you can technically leave the shackle guard off, I don't recommend it, as it greatly decreases a lot of the security of the lock when you do.The key part is also very secure-- but it's where the biggest caveat of this lock comes in. It takes some practice to use, because you have to turn the key twice to get the lock open and detach the shackle from the lock. I recommend, as soon as you get this lock, play around with it, and practice unlocking it. There are videos on YouTube discussing A. How thief resistant this lock is B. how to use it. It has a learning curve, but once you get it, you can open and close it pretty quickly. You don't want to use it without getting some practice in, especially if you're in a hurry to get it open.Overall, I really love this lock. I feel like I can leave my expensive laptop, wallet, and even passport in a locker for a 90-minute-long workout session without having to worry about it getting broken into-- I think a thief would have to break the actual physical locker before they're going to get past the lock. Your average gym locker thief isn't looking to spend 20 minutes getting into a locker, they're going to go to your neighbor's locker that has a cheap luggage combo lock before they go for yours.

Commando Lock Total Guard High Security iCHANGE
Sent me a used defective lock with rust, gouged up and the keys would not release. I purchased a new lock not a used lock! Extremely disappointing, I now have to return the lock! However, the lock is high security and high quality, if it has not been previously used, I would have kept the lock. Will not work on a hasp that is 1/2" wide horizontally.

Hard to work with
This lock is complicated. And it won’t take large chain as far as I can tell and have tried. I can’t use it for what I wanted it for, but I will keep it. What I tell you to buy it, No.

Quality high security padlock.
We had to replace our office's air conditioning unit. The new unit is much larger than the original, so our security cage would not close. I used a combination of these commando locks and cut-resistant cable to secure them.Take a look at the instruction manual on how to dismantle the lock. It's more than just turning the key and letting it pop open.

Very sturdy, but make sure you have room to lock it
I bought this to secure a container for a cross country move, and while it is everything it says it is, I had to remove the shackle guard so it would fit on container's lock mechanism.Ultimately it wasn't a problem for me, but something I didn't anticipate and it reduced the protection of the lock.
