Very informative!!!
I had a Havanese for 14 years. We are getting a new one soon and I learned so much. I had no idea the particulars of a Havanese and I now vow to care for my new dog as a true Havanese. Very useful and can’t wait to get our new puppy.

Havanese - what you need to know
I purchased this book to research this breed before purchasing a puppy. I am in the process of adding to my current pack of 4, none of which are Havanese. I have been trying to learn all i possibly could to be prepared, know what to expect, type of coat, grooming, characteristics of the breed. This is an excellent book. It tells you everything you need to know before purchasing this breed. The book covers food, food dishes, picking up your puppy, what to expect when you first bring it home, canine social behavior, nutrition, health, history of the breed; traits, coat type, toys and general information that is useful for any breed. The book is written so that it seems like a conversation with the author - not just the facts. It is an easy read & I have enjoyed reading.

Found out after reading
Although I found this book informative and enjoyed learning so much about this breed, I found out afterward that Ms Klumb broke away from the Havanese Club of America and has tried to create a different breed name the Havenese Silk Dog. She has apparently created a rift within the breed culture and I was disappointed that she has not divulged this information as it has caused difficulty with the Havanese community. If I had known this, I would have found another author. I think she should be honest with the mess she has created. Especially to those of us who are new to the breed and the history.

Made the dog sound like it was doomed to be doomed to not make ...
This book started out common telling traits about the Havanese but in the ending chapters it told about every illness possible to the Havanese and the percentages were way off. Made the dog sound like it was doomed to be doomed to not make a good pet but be a bumble of illnesses. The author seemed to want to deter anyone away from this breed. I spoke to my breeder, veterinarian and other people and the book is way off on basing percentages listed as unrealistic. Would not recommend.

Best overall Havanese book I've found yet
This is the best overall book on the Havenese breed that I have found to date. The others that I have purchased I learned were of a new "cut and paste" variety of e-books – the author could just substitute in a new breed name and have a whole new book to sell. That is clearly not the case here as the content is specific and relevant to the Havenese breed alone. It is a good general primer on Havenese ownership and I refer back to it constantly. The book details the breed history and helps you avoid the health issues that can affect poorly bred Havenese.

Excellent Book
The author really really knows her Havs. This is not a generic dog book, rather a book by an author who knows this great breed and it’s humorous quirks.

Best book for potential Havanese owners
While preparing to welcome a Havanese puppy to our home, I have found this the best of several Havanese books available on Amazon. Authoritative, informative and well written, this is the book I would recommend to anyone considering having a Havanese as a pet.

Perfect summary of all you need to know
Read this as I'm considering a Havanese and am very glad I did. Gives well structured and invaluable advice which includes the "warts and all" facts you need to consider before taking on this marvellous breed.Would highly recommend to anyone considering getting one, but will also be great for current owners wanting to understand the breed better.

Fancy work for a Fancy Dog
Well written, explicit, good descriptions for what to look for and expect in a puppy. Trainers and new breeders will love it. Not much on training.

Guera but printed in black and white unfortunately not like Havanese dogs colorful are
Much more comprehensive in compare to "Bichon Havanese" written by Z. P. Guera but printed in black and white unfortunately not like Havanese dogs colorful are. Some articles are ilustrated not enough I would say.
