Amazing and brilliant
David Leadbeater is one heck of an author. His books are fast paced, action packed and keep you hooked till you are done reading the latest one out. That is what is happening with me right now. I am left with 2 unread books and am not sure if I want to start them (and finish them in 2 days as I end up doing) or wait some time. His characters are amazing>Alicia Myles, the crazy EnglishwomanMai Kitano, the ex-Ninja Japanese agentTorsten Dahl, the mad SwedeHayden Jaye, ex-CIA, leaderMano Kinimaka, clumsy, adorable Hawaiian giantSmyth, the no-firstname always-angry Ex-Delta Force soldierKomodo, Ex-Delta Force soldier with great cooking skillsThese are just some of the characters that dont let you leave a book till the time you have read it, finished it and are onto the next one.

At the ending I cried.
Not bawling like a baby, but tears of losing a thing dear to me. The SPEAR team against the entire Yakusa, and they won, but not all of them. N

Good, not great.
At this point, Drake, Miles, Dahl, and the rest of the crew have become superheroes. The fight scenes are somewhat unrealistic, bordering on comedic. While the story still moves at a fast pace, some of the drama suffers from the fact that I keep saying to myself, "C'mon, man, that can't happen!" One other criticism is that this episode focuses on only the action scenes while the quest for the "Lost Kingdom" seems to take a back seat.

The never ending Matt Drake rollercoaster/thrill ride keeps on going...
Another really fun and intense kick butt action thrill ride. If you have read the previous books you have to read this one as the shizzle keeps hitting the fan and all hell breaks out (multiple times)! Lots of fun reading this (and the previous books). Very tough to put down as here is never really a lull in the action ;-).

The actual archelogical discoveries don't even seem to be important ...
The actual archelogical discoveries don't even seem to be important. What I'm struggling with in the series is very little time is devoted to what is supposed to be the whole purpose of the evil and violence, the historical discoveries. The Lost Kingdom not only is destroyed with twenty pages, it's significance is never really explained.

Saving the World isn't easy.
The SPEAR team are not slackers. They work together so efficiently and have become a family. When they lose a team member, their heart breaks. But they also never lose focus of their ultimate goal.

As entertaining as always!
Matt, Dahl, Hayden & Alicia are in top form as well as the rest of the team. Looking forward to the Pythians end and Mai's quest. Hopefully will see Matt Drake 11 soon as well as Alicia's 2 in August. Hard to put Mr Leadbeater's books down until the end.

Another great read!
Once again I started reading his next book and could NOT put it down. Read the whole thing in one sitting and was out of breath at the end!!!! David takes you on a ride....just make sure your seat belt is fastened and you're good to go!! The only bad part is the books have to end and then you have to wait for another. I love all the series...SPEAR, Alicia, Chosen....keep 'em coming!

Another excellent book - a must read for all fans of fast-paced action thrillers
Work just gets in the way of finishing a good book.I really enjoyed this book. The latest instalment of the SPEAR team did not disappoint, with all the usual things you expect from them - fast-paced action and a developing storyline - with quite a few pointers to what might happen in future books. This book - I felt that everything in it could happen today and probably has.It felt to me like the author devoted more time in this book to the complex development of characters and their relationships than in some of the previous books in this range - which I really enjoyed - this is clearly setting the scene for future developments, for which We will just have to be patient and wait for.Thank you very much David - you did it again.

Amazing!!
I chose 5 ***** because it is worth every star as always with David Leadbeater novels it leaves you aghast and that starts from the first page. If you've read Matt Drake and the SPEAR teams adventures from the beginning then it's good to catch up with them all before the true action really starts and then it never stops until the heart stopping moment when you're sat with your jaw fallen open at the shattering conclusion of one of the teams demise! I can't wait to see what happens next, hurry David!!

David pens another winner
David does it again, another race against time for the SPEAR team against new and old foes. There is quite a bit of character development with their stories running alongside the main storyline. This time they are searching for a kidnapped team member and a lost civilisation that could be bigger than Atlantis. The first ending in a daring rescue and pitched battle in Japan leading the team on to Hong Kong for another fight to end all fights...maybe some big shocks in store but can't wait for Drake 11

Another day of intrigue and adventure
A brilliant twist to the story.I liked the way you always have at least three scenarios going on as each individual group has its own agenda. All I can say is they deserve a little down time and then back into the fight with more twists, ups and downs than a Theme Park Rollercoaster.Look forward to the next one!

MR LEADBEATER NEVER DISAPPOINTS
Love everything that David has written, only problem is I cant read them all as fast as he writes them what with SPEAR, THE DISAVOWED , and ALICIA MILES series, which now all link in and are all in the "cant put it down category" so Im getting to the stage where Im reading none of my others !!!! Still cant get enough of Mr Leadbeater !!! Keep em coming
