I have three Indian Runner Ducks and so I bought the small one since it holds up to 25 pounds. Easy to put together. Yes, it had a few chips but that's normal. There was no major damage. I picked this house because of three reasons: the top opens up for easily egg collection, it had a small window which I can open for air flow and close if to cold, and the floor comes up in two pieces for easy cleaning. Because the floor is like a privacy fence lets good air flow its great during the summer. My ducks can stand really cold weather, they swim in the winter so it works great because ducks need air flow since they build up a lot of moisture but you wouldnt leave any other kind of pet out during the winter because they won't still warm enough. Came with door flap but I don't use it.

Very happy with our purchase. Probably only took about 30 mins or so to put together. Instructions are basic but so is the assembly. Seemed well packaged and ours had no damage. Although the wood is thin it does look nice. However, the thin wood means it is much easier to move around, even one person could push it around due to the easy slide feet at the bottom. As others have said, warmth can be improved by adding sheet insulation you can buy at your local hardware store. Regardless, the only gaps in the wood is the slats in the floor, which is by design. The sides and roof appear to seal nicely. Plus you can't beat the window, which is the main reason we selected this one over similar models. The window allows us to see if the dog is in the dog house without actually disturbing her. Win win.

Pictured is my border collie in the medium sized house.I bought this house knowing I was going to do some modifications. We put 2x4s under the floor because there is basically no support there. I also insulated it because the walls are probably a half inch thick and made of some really light weight wood.We will keep this under a covered porch. It's hard for me to imagine this being out in the elements and lasting long.Overall, 4.5 stars. Only because it came damaged. Very cute, light weight house.

We bought this as we moved across the country and now have a decent yard for our outdoor cat. He needs a place to sleep and hide out, and this seemed to be the perfect solution..The assembly was fairly easy, especially with a cordless drill. The four corners were super easy, but the roof and the hinges that hold the roof up were a little bafling. We got the hinges on with no problem after studying the picture, but the hinges that hold it open were more difficult.The holes for the 4 walls are predrilled. Not so much for the rest...more like marks on the wood. When it came for the hinges that hoid the roof open, they were marked left and right, but when we put them in as we thought were proper, the lid wouldn't close. We revered the hinges and it works well now. I guess the hinges were marked wrong or the company that made it has a different right and left than we do.My wife plans to urithane it to make it water proof, but from the wood smell, I would guess it is cedar and should hold up well. Time will tell. The roof it asphalt with sand mixed in and should hold up quite well. Also, the vinyl flaps were preinstalled, so we din't have to mess with that chore. IT is now sitting in its designated spot and looks great!

Saw this and thought perfect for my tortoises because the burrow we built flooded first time it rained. My tortoise love it. Keeps them dry from the rain, away from heating the sun and I’ll keep you posted for in the winter (as I do plan to as insulation for them for the winter along with a thermometer to keep tabs on temp and a camera). But so far, it’s working great as I can lift the top to get to them if need be. And they are happy.

Received dog house, box in good condition. The roof frame was cracked along the entire width, the bottom of one of the side panels was completely broken off, and the clear weather flap for the enterance was dirty with what appeared to be glue residue and styrofoam packing, Wood is lightweight but would have probably been okay if it wasn't so damaged, very disappointing.

This dog house IS NOT insulated as advertised. Non-existant customer service. Tried twice to contact them, with no success. I'm just asking for the insulation for this so called; "Insulated" dog house. Although the dog house is very light and sturdy. If I get an answer from the party responsible for the insulation, I will most definitely will re-post.

Bought the small dog model. Good size for a Bichon. He took to it right away. The plastic door strips get very stiff in the cold but they keep out rain.At first the package looked like it had been opened and we thought it was maybe a returned item. Nothing was broken or missing. Assembly was not too difficult though I needed some help to get the walls lined up and fastened.Had to cut a 1.25 inch hole in the side to accommodate the plug for a warming pad. I used a piece of foam pipe insulation as a grommet for the cord and hole.The unit is solid and takes two to carry. The roof is solid and completely weatherproof.
