Santa Cruz Twin Bed with Trundle (Rustic Walnut)

The bed is well-made and study. It doesn't seem to have a protective finish on the wood (varnish), only stain. Maybe this was described in the listing and I missed it. My one complaint would be that the trundle is on wooden wheels that DO NOT turn well so when I pull out the trundle, the wheels are being pulled across my hardwood floors without rolling. This could potentially damage my floors over time.

If I did it again, I don't think I'd bother with the trundle - just slip a matching mattress under the bunk. Be warned this is really for persons under about 100 pounds and children who do not jump.

This is a surprisingly sturdy and nice looking unit. Compact with no wasted space. Bottom bed has rollers to move easily.Only con is the legs could have been 1" higher. the lower bed won't fit under with anything more than just sheets on it

Nice bed. Not much clearance for the bottom trundle though. After putting the mattress on I had to cut wood shims to raise the top bed in order to slide the bottom trundle under (fully dressed with bed sheets).

I just received this bed today and am already impressed with it.The bed is lightweight but solid hardwood(poplar).Not just some wood and some mdf but ALL wood.Very impressed.The bed is a simplistic design that I love.It fits beautifully in my girls room and doesnt take up any more space than the actual matttress because of the design.No giant head/footboard in the way taking up valuable room space or digging into slanted ceilings.My girls have been playing and jumping on it for hours now and they love it.The bed is so simple that I think even I could have built it from scratch,with NO kind of carpentry know how at all.All in all if you need a simple,economically priced,small footprint bed you'd be hard pressed to find better.I would absolutely buy this bed again if needed and highly recommend.

Would give it 4 stars if the brackets for wheels fit the pre-routed space to attach them. Everything else worked fine and it was easy to put together in about 45 minutes.

This is a simple but effective solution for my two boys. The bedroom is way too small for two twin beds and a bunk was not an option.The bed has a very simple design but that only makes it easier to assemble. Now I cannot tell the difference between actual hardwood and well manufactured board, but based on its density (weight/volume) I can say it is sturdy - only time will tell how sturdy.The only down - I expected the platform to be a little higher. I tried to put a thicker mattress on it and it became hard to pull it out.Pros: easy to put together, sturdy, simple design fits most bedroom decorsDown: Does not work well when both children want pillow top mattresses.

I am a newly divorced woman who bought a new home and had to buy furniture. I wanted as much sleep over space as possible since relatives will be visiting. To that end I researched extensively the best trundle option for the best price. I chose the Santa Cruz Trundle. It is great. It was easy to put together and looks great. I put it together by myself. I got sheets, blankets and pillows so that it would look in the room exactly as it did on line. I recommend this to anyone who is looking for a trundle bed and doesn't want all that wood provided by furniture from the stores.
