Orange Throw Down Bases (5 Piece)

These were a perfect gift for a young family with a 4 year old boy and a big back yard. The color of the bases make an easy target for a 4 year old, excellent hitter. I really like the fact that you can make the infield as big or as small as the skill level of the players. Another great fact is that you can take the bases with you and provide for a pick-up game wherever you go.The bases are made of a rubber material and look like they will survive for a long time. At the purchase price, you can't do better.

My first though was, “Man, Amazon shipping is sooo cheap.” Would you be smiling if you were shipped in the same cramped box as someone else? Remember when you were a kid....ok go way back I know....think about the gym class bases (that always seemed 100 years old) .....ok, these bases are identical! Nothing fancy, but extremely durable. Of course the bright orange color may not be a fashion statement, but they sure are easy to spot in the yard! I fully expect these bases will last through my kids ( and grand kids most likely as well!). They are just as durable as those ancient bases from gym class and we all remember how they got used and abused!

These are great. Was looking for something my kids and I could take to the park to use when we play baseball together. These fit that bill perfectly. I do wish they were a little less slick on the bottom, but for the price they are great. Easy to carry. This way I don't have to look through the trash can in the park for a cardboard box to rip into 4 pieces to make the bases. My son tried to push off the wet grass on one of these and ended up doing the splits. It was kind of funny, but kind of not. Not sure why they made them orange. Maybe for that wild and crazy time that I played baseball at night. Nosebleed waiting to happen.

These bases seem to last longer than the thicker white ones. We have purchased so many baseball base sets over the years since all of our boys are baseball fanatics. These work perfect! We use them in the backyard on a daily basis. They sit in the sun daily, but they don't breakdown nearly as fast as other brands. They are thin, but I consider than a plus since they are lighter to carry if you are taking them somewhere (which we have also done). Sometimes baseball coaches ask us to bring these to practice if the field doesn't have bases. Being thin is also a plus if they are on the back patio and the lawnmower happens to run over them. (Yes, this has also happened . . .) Overall, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend these bases. Since they sit in the rain and sun year round and are used continually by our boys and their friends, we usually buy a set every 1-2 years, but with the price being reasonable, it is manageable.

Going to the batting cages, they have pitching mounds that are just plastic. Which means the kids are constantly kicking it around and gets to the point are why bother using them. I wanted something I could use for practices and home use that would be cheap but durable. This product is both, great purchase. The product is rubbery and flexible too, and also has some weight to it. So no longer do I worry about the pitcher kicking the mound around when pitching. This goes for the rest of the bases too. Excellent product if you are in need of bases for practice or for laying around at home.

I waited for a little bit of use before I wrote this review. These bases work great for quick pick up games of kickball or wiffle ball in the neighborhood. Whether on grass or concrete these do their job.So far, they have been through 3 games of kickball with both adults and neighborhood kids. We made no attempt to go easy on these. They show no signs of failure. They are light enough to carry to your field with ease. They are sturdy enough to stay in place and not blow around. The bright orange color makes them easy to spot in the grass.I'm going to purchase another set as a backup just in case. Well worth the money.
