Altec Lansing M202 Dual-Charging iPod Dock (30-pin connector)

This dock is rather simple. It has to the two ports for the ipods/iphones. A source,power,volume up,volume down button and that is about it. It relies on the iphone/ipod features and the two apps that you can download. It does have a 3.5mm jack and a USB port on the back. I did not have a chance to use those but the ability to switch back and forth between two devices has been rather nice. I can have my Pandora channel on and my sister has hers and we just go back and forth. The sound quality is rather good. It is no super loud but it is good for a small dock... I would have thought it would be larger but it is rather small and has a good sound for its size... I would recommend it too anyone with two Iphones/ipods. Altec Lansing has always been a good brand no matter what I buy and is affordable. Love this thing! Its really my girlfriend but I haven't let her touch it yet!

Wonderful sound for such a small box. This worked great for us. We don't use it as much since my wife updated her iPhone 4 for the new iPhone 5. The bass is rich and highs are pleasing. Impressive really, though it won't allow you to turn up very loud. It seems as if it has a built-in volume limiter. I found that the loudest volume setting was sufficient for a small room. I felt that this unit came with a great range, especially with rock/pop.The remote storage is pretty genius. Charges your phone faster than Apple's own chargers. I'm very excited about it. I will probably place it in my office now that my wife can't use it. I wish it had a built in tuner. Nothing a cheap iPod Touch won't fix though.

This will not work if you have a otter box or hard cover for your Iphone 4. It fits my Iphone 3 with it's cover on. Sounds great, easy to move around and doesn't take up much room. Simple to use, remote is a nice touch.

I was a little unsure as to if I wanted to buy this or not, or if I even needed it. I didn't need it but once I plugged in my iPhone, I instantly fell in love.Pros:-Remote with magnet holder (I tend to hate getting off my couch because my lap is usually filled with books).-Surprising bass for its size. Sure, it doesn't bump but its enough to compliment the music.-Great sound quality. The sound is crisp, loud, and clear. I have no problem hearing it in the other room or my dorm.-Mix app (for iPhone/iPod Touch. This is perfect for roommate fights over what songs should be played.-Cradle (see below) fits even with my Otterbox Commuter case.-It can charge up to three devices at once (two being iDevices, the other only needing to be a USB device).Cons:-No iPhone 4/4S cradle but it still works as long as you don't lean or pull device plugged in.Bottom line:If you want something that is basically equal to an iHome that charges and plays iDevices then this is your product. It can charge and play devices.

The first unit we received simply did not work. The price went up and we bought another one as the replacement (amazon wouldn't ship a replacement). This one arrived and the sound is FABULOUS for a small corner dock - BUT when it is plugged in and turned off, it has a high pitched noise that is constant. We just unplug it every time we are not using it, but it is a high pitched noise emitted when phones are charging or when phones aren't charging if it is plugged in, so just plan to have the music playing all the time while it is docked to drown out the noise. Very happy with the sound but still debating the noise issue...although it is the only unit we've found that will mix music from 2 players at once so it's got a benefit over others!~~~~~~~~~EDIT:Fast forward 3 months and the unit will not play 90% of the time, the connectors seem bad and it definitely won't play music from two sources much less one. APPARENTLY it has been manufactured to last past the return date for Amazon and that's about it. Very unfortunate for such a cool concept. We are now stuck with a useless speaker that doesn't work the vast majority of the time. Pretty frustrating considering we paid over $60 on amazon just a handful of months ago and now it is at half price...likely due to the same issues.

I am amazed by all the quality of this products, from the clear sound to all the functionally (2 docks, AUX input and USB). In 2 simple words: Perfect Product !!!Congratulations Altec Lansing! Please continue developing products like this, it feels like you people are taking the old great quality sound combined with the next generation technology ... !The sound is very clear and very loud (specially considering the size), it can perfectly fill a medium/big room with no problem or distortion. Note: have an incredible GOOD bass response (way beyond my expectations).Definitely I will recommend it to all my friends, this products feels like a real product, I mean, it does NOT feel cheap and have an excellent balance between quality and price. All the small details are there, from the finish of the case to the sound and functionally.Thanks !!!

I've used this for about 4 months months. It's okay, but it really makes music sound bad, and isn't the whole point of this to play music? The sound is muddy and mid-rangey, not clear. There's no EQ to change this. Also, the charging contacts already have stopped working intermittently. They're not bent or cracked, they just don't charge sometimes, even when the iPhone's case is off.

I gave it 4 stars because it does what it is intended to do. It idoes great when you can charge your ipod and iphone at the same time, and the extra usb on a side lets for a extra device to be charged as well!!!the only thing i dislike and that i took a star off is because the applications that could be used with the device do not open when you plug in the ipod or iphone. that would be really cool if it did but it doesnt other than that the speaker sounds great and fills the room.very satisfied with it. On another note the product seemed to be opened from the shipping (not the retail box!! ) which i think the postal service took a peak on what it was i guess
