JET 15-Ton Screw Jack (SJ-15T)

exactly as advertised, work great, and for much less than the local industrial supply center.

2 story house, 150 years old. purshased 2 of the 15-ton jacks to help support some old sills that has some rot. poored concrete footer. very solid. left as permanant fixtures. they will probobly outlast the house. used an old tire iron to spread. was all i could do on my own. very pleased. peace of mind. would recommend.

I've had a few of these along the way and this one is just a little different. All that I have had before will allow you to use a piece of 1/2" water pipe to crank it up and down. On this one the holes are just a tiny bit too small and I have to use the tire iron from my pickup. Works fine but not as handy as the old ones. Also the very top piece (the part that contacts the load) wobbles around. I guess it is supposed to adapt to conditions. Never had one do that, but it's ok, just different. Does the job.

Well constructed, heavy duty, and quality built. However, they are made in China (what isn't) to Jet's specifications fyi. I purchased 2 and will last many, many lifetimes.

Just what I expected

Seems well made. Not much doubt it will perform as advertised. I haven't used them. One observation out of the box is that the top piece that sits on the screw doesn't find a center on its own. In fact it feels like there's a dimple in the cup of the top that forces it off center. Maybe that's by design? They aren't meant to be permanent in the sense that a picky inspector in a property transfer will pass them based on the fact that they can't be secured at the base or top. At least in my area.

Have a block and beam system under my house that had some settling over the years. I used these on a 3/8” plate of steel (hollow footprint on the jack) to lift the beams and put taller posts on the blocks. They lift a house with just a sturdy screwdriver.
