Smith Optics Signal MIPS Road Cycling Helmet

This product is proof that product placement in media works. I saw it on a rider in a streaming show and thought, "that looks good!" My current helmet, only a year or so old, never looked so great, sits high on my head, doesn't feel great, but is a major helmet manufacturer and I know it's okay. The Smith helmet looks good, feels good (I've used it several times already), fits lower on my head than my other Mips helmet and seems to cover my forehead and back of my neck better. The price is good too (compared to other Mips helmets). I actually ordered a second one in another color so I could swap them out. I ride almost every day for an hour or more, and I give this product a thumbs UP.

I have a big head ! I searched a long time for a good helmet that would fit. I see a lot of helmet reviews that say... not true to size... or ... uncomfortable. This helmet fits perfect ! True extra large. Thank you.

I give this helmet 4 stars for comfort. The looks aren't the prettiest especially with this off-white/gray color that I got. Why did I get this color? Because Amazon had none of the colors available due to the COVID-19 helmet shortage.I fall on the larger head spectrum and the large size with an adjustable strap fits me perfectly. The helmet is surprisingly light and in these colder months of Oct-Dec, I cannot even tell they are on. Another update in the summer may be coming.Compared to other helmets this has more protection in the back of the head. This is really the main reason I got this helmet is to protect falling backwards and having the head smash down into the concrete. If you watch NFL players get tackled the number one cause of concussion is when they fall back and hit their head on the ground. In cycling when you fall forward normally your hands will break your fall but when you fall backward your hands will soften the blow for your bottom or back but not your head.I've been riding for 20 years and my worse falls have always been falling backward especially when mountain biking.If you're into biking fashion then pass on this helmet. But if you want your head protected well this helmet is for you. It's comfortable, fits large heads like mine, and surprisingly lightweight.

Helmets never fit my head as it is abnormally large. After acquiring a bicycle, I needed head protection. After three Amazon refunds, three local sports shops, and a lot of searching on Google, I found this helmet. It fits my huge head perfectly with about an inch to spare. If your head is huge like mine, this is the helmet for you. :)

Collects a Hoover Dam's-worth of sweat atop your brow, which then drips onto your sunglasses, causing visibility issues.Needs a better design.

Replaced my Mavic helmet with this Smith. The helmet looks great, and the fit for me is perfect. Adjustment mechanism is easy to use. I wanted a MIPS helmet and for the money, I think this Smith is a great deal. I have received several comments about the look of the helmet and so far, I am totally pleased with my selection. This is my first Smith helmet, and I think I made a good choice, very satisfied with the quality, fit and technology.

Had it for 1 min. Tried it on and love it. Perfect fit and very comfortable. Can't wait to ride. Got this helmet after I fell and hit my head wearing a different helmet. After studying I decided to go with MIPS and chose this Smith signal helmet. More concerned with head safety than price.

When buying something you hope never to use for its intended purpose, you have certain hopes and expectations. Comfort, price, and aesthetic style among the top of those.This helmet helmet hits all those expectations easily. Very comfortable and fits perfectly (I have a large melon). It also has a dial type ratchet in the back to fine tune your fit. All the parts inside have just the right kind of padding and material to make it feel good while wearing. It feels incredibly well made.Plus, I like the look. No fake racer look, just a handsome roadie and seemingly streamlined look. It breathes very well and the white color is perfect for what I was wanting. It also didn’t break the bank. Other attractive helmets like POC and Oakley would likely look and feel similar, but cost more than twice as much.I will be sticking to Smith helmets from now on due to the perfect fit, comfort, style and price. You won’t regret this purchase

I received this in Large and I want a medium (which I would assume is = standard) but I have no way of being able to swap and ensure I receive a Medium or if its available.Looks like a good helmet though so would be happy to have the correct fitting one.

This helmet looks very stylish and fits well (it is easy to adjust). I bought it because of the MIPS heead protection system. Hopefully I will never to find out whether it works. The helmet itself looks well made of quality materials.

Ordered one size (no dimensions on description) but Adult L arrived 59-62 cm, I'm 56cm so too big.Smith sizes are S 50-55, M 55-59, L 59-62, XL 61-65 cm. I will have to return.

This is one of those excellent product that just so happens to be very reasonably priced. I don't feel like I'm missing on anything with this helmet, heck - it's even MIPS certified.The helmet has a handy "ratcheting" system similar to construction hardhats. It's very light and doesn't look dorky when you're wearing it. I opted for the one without the visor seeing that I usually wear shades if it's nice out and I dig the look. Heat dissipates reasonably well despite me picking the black colored helmet.So to sum it all up, I'm very content with this product and would recommend it to anyone.
