Pretty amazing for the price and likely better than those other cheapos
4Q23 update: looks like i bought this in July of 2015. it JUST NOW finally died. or is blinking in and out or turning off like it's dying. main reason i felt the need to update this is that i noticed in another review that a Samsung projector broke the "first time it was dropped."i put this on a 5ish foot tall *camera* tripod. unfortunately where it's located, there's an HDMI cable and its power cord running across a walk way in the living room, so it's been knocked over from that height at LEAST 2-3 times in the last few years while a roomie was cleaning and it STILL survived. if i'm in the market for a picoprojector again (the small fan got to be a bit too annoying to go back to one at least THIS small) i'll definitely go back to Aaxa! hadn't heard of them before, but i noticed Aaxa projectors on Verizon's accessories section after i bought it, so they're definitely reputable and been around long enoughalsoquick review:PQ is very good for this price range, though it does need a refocus 10-30 minutes after use as it heats up. after a bit of watching, realized it needed to be adjusted away from the pretty intense reds. got it adjusted to where i'm *pretty* happy with it, but may need to adjust it more (i think i took the reds from 50 to 30 or 20. or possibly even lower.)the only downside is that the fans are a bit loud and high-pitched. HOWEVER, i don't think you'll get a (supposedly) long-lasting projector, color quality this good, and especially brightness at this price.according to some posts on "an a/v enthusiast forum," the cheapos have wonky color. similarly-priced Optoma and Infocus is around the same PQ (but a little bit more expensive), and LG is a small step up, but a fair bit more expensive.

Won't play movies off of a Flashdrive, USB HDD, or Micro SD card very well; Only via HDMI.
I use this for watching movies. This projector is small and portable. It is bright enough in a pitch black room. In a room of average lighting during the day, you can't make the screen bigger than 32". Otherwise you just can't see the movie well. You'll need external speakers of some sort to enjoy a movie. My biggest issue with the projector is that you really can't play movies off of a Flashdrive, USB HDD, or Micro SD, because the projector can't handle it. The audio and video will be off, or there will be horizontal lines of static. I've had both issues. My guess is that the onboard ARM processor isn't powerful enough to handle decoding the video while simultaneously projecting it. There are no playback issues while outputting the video from a computer via HDMI.The video details I used to play off the Micro SD card and had issues with are:Audio Problems - Codec: MP4 - H264 AVC, Resolution: 848x480, Frame Rate: 59.94, Audio AAC (mp4a), Sample Rate: 4800 Hz.Video Problems - Codec: MP4 - H264 AVC, Resolution: 1920x1080, Frame Rate: 23.97, Audio AAC (mp4a), Sample Rate: 4800 Hz.I have not used the w77 wifi streaming stick adapter. Maybe that will solve everything. However, don't think you will be able to load up a USB HD, USB Thumb Drive, or MicroSD card with movies and be able to enjoy them. The majority of the time, you won't be able to, and you'll be better off with the video feed coming in from the HDMI.

Great Picture - but for a limited time
I was excited to receive this small but mighty projector. When I initially turned it on it received a lot of compliments for the crisp bright image (even though it was still in eco mode).Pros:- Bright- Sharp imageCons:- Wireless (WiFi/Bluetooth) failed to load drivers (i.e. I couldn't use the wireless functionality 60+% of the time).- Airplay for YouTube caused the Airplay to kick out on the projector side.- Remote layout- IR Receiver location on the unit (still not sure where but it isn't ideal)- Fan Noise (I have since purchased another unit of similar price, different company, that has very little fan noise by comparison).- Turned off 1/2 way through movies (ambient temp was 78 + I had an external fan blowing on it, so not due to heat).- Speaker (don't plan to use it, it is basically useless). For my use case I was using it at the end of my bed pointing up to the ceiling. As Im sure most know, the further back the projector is from the surface your projecting on, the larger the image. So, I lowered the tripod (not the cheap one it comes with) to its lowest level. This put the projector out of eye sight from the head of the bed. One would assume that the IR from the remote would bounce off of a wall and hit the projector... well, not in this case. I had to raise the projector till I could see it at the end of the bed.Not sure why but I would see 'please insert wireless card' frequently with my unit. Sometimes that would resolve itself but it took several min. So if you were hoping to use any of the wireless features, you would need to be VERY patient.I was using an Apple TV through HDMI due to the wireless issues, I wasn't thrilled about not being able to stream directly on the device as advertised, but the picture was great so I thought I could work around it. Turns out, my unit didn't want to work any longer than say 1 hour as it would just power itself off after that time period, you know, right at the good part of the movie! This appears to happen on each use and wasn't a one time occurrence. Not sure if my unit, which was 'refurbished' was just sent back out without any validation or if the product is genuinely bad. Some of the cons I list have nothing to do with it being refurbished. The remote layout is terrible! Its black, and the buttons are not placed in a logical manner so finding the right button in the dark, forget it! IR placement on the unit, not sure where it is, but don't try to use it pointing straight up and not within line of sight. The fan noise, I heard others say 'well, its a projector', and I would agree. However, after I purchased and used a competitors product I have to say, they can and need to improve on this aspect. Especially with the underpowered speaker, you cannot use it without connecting an external speaker (wired, cause the wireless may give out).

AAXA P450 Great Portable Projector
My P450 came from Amazon without the remote control which was mailed after I called AAXA support. Great little portable unit perfect for projecting Web pages, videos and slide presentations with 8-10 people. Easy to connect with HDMI cable to PC or by inserting USB drive containing jpg files which doesn't require a PC. 3 minor negative comments. The tripod that comes with P450 is junk, spend $10 and get a nice stable aluminum one. The built-in speakers are "tinny" sounding. If sound is important to your presentation use a pair of remote speakers. After on for several minutes the projector sometimes loses focus and has to be manually adjusted. P450 is worth the expenditure for anyone doing presentations on the road.

and still look good. It's pretty powerful
My daughter loves this small projector. She uses it a lot. Projects stuff on the glossy whiteboard, and still look good. It's pretty powerful, very bright. It was abused a lot, dropped, kicked, and yet it keeps working just fine. Good value for the money.

Love this product
Love this product! Purchased it for a gazebo installation, and though it did not work where I needed it to, it is an awesome little device!! Very bright and clear picture considering its small size. Impressive.

Small but not mighty
Unit is so light that the slightest move from the laptop or table moves the image off center. The tripod is difficult to set and therefore the unit is not always level. 450 lumens in this case doesn't offer a bright enough image on the screen if there's light in the room.

Image quality not that great.
I would go for the next model up-finicky to set up. Image quality not that great.
