The brushes were a good present and with any presence of mind will be ...
Gave one to my daughter-in-law as a Christmas present and it was used both by her and my granddaughter that day. On the next day my granddaughter was given one for her 11th birthday and my daughter-in-law exclaimed "now we can keep them separate by the color of hair stuck in the bristles". Quality seemed high but what does a guy really know about hair brushes? There must be instructions on the package as my daughter-in-law was brushing her long hair by bending over at the waist letting her hair dangle to the floor and complaining that her arms were not long enough. The instructions must have indicated brushing in that manner would stimulate the scalp. The brushes were a good present and with any presence of mind will be used for a long time.

BE KIND TO YOUR HAIR
I have fine wavy hair that gets very tangled during the night (even with a silk pillowcase) and I found this brush harsh and very time-consuming when it came to brushing, (even after detangling with a comb beforehand - as advised). After realising that the brush was collecting a lot of my hair, I delved further into the subject and found this information on Good Housekeeping website:-"Hair cuticles help keep the hair strong and resilient, and guard the inner cortex from moisture loss and damage. However, unlike skin cells, hair cells do not regenerate once they're past scalp level, so once the cuticle is gone, itโs gone โ which means it's important to minimise daily wear and tear. One of the most common causes of cuticle damage is boar bristle brushes. These can tear away sections of the hair cuticle, seriously weakening strands and increasing porosity. Instead, choose a paddle brush that has plastic, rounded prongs. When the cuticle is raised, strands tend to interlock like Velcro."Even if you can avoid touching the scalp with the brush, it seriously tugs on the hair, which I imagine must also raise the cuticle somewhat.Instead, I purchased a Tangle-Teezer for fine and fragile hair and detangling is so easy. I'm converted! If I could return this boar bristle brush I would.Save your hair and avoid these brushes. According to GH, we have to lose 15 percent of our hair before we even notice it.I don't profess to know the exact science of it but from my experience, it makes sense...

Makes hair thicker with more volume
Hair has completely transformed after using this. Itโs so much thicker with loads more volume, but the only issue is that it does make your hair a LOT more tangly but itโs worth it. If you have fine hair would definitely recommend

Great brush for thick hair.
I find most Boar Bristle and nylon brushes don't go all the way through my long thick hair and just brush the top section. This one is fabulous and brushes all of my hair, rather than just the top part. It felt a little scratchy on my scalp (but not painfully so) for the first couple of brushes, but I was glad it went through my hair and now I don't even notice. The brush is pricey, but having tried cheaper ones I'd have been better off buying this in the first place! I haven't tried the other brushes some have mentioned, but at double the price of the MM brush I don't see the need. I'm pleased to have a brush that brushes my hair rather than half brushing.

Met my expectations
Brush is very good. Unlike other boar bristle brushes that would not penetrate my hair, this does the trick. I have not found the plastic tines to be to sharp on my scalp as other people have reported. It does leave some static electricity in my hair and so I use it at night to distribute the day's oils, I've found that I've been able to extend the number of days between hair washing.
