The real deal!
Based off of the other reviews, this product did in fact show up with a less than sharp blade, me being an intelligent adult I can without hesitation say I UNDERSTAND WHY SHIPPING THIS WITH A SHARP BLADE WOULD BE A MAJOR LIABILITY, this being said this thing is a beast of a garden tool!! And worth every penny! Super easy to sharpen with a good file or better yet a Dremel or if you have a bench grinder! With regular use you’ll need to resharpen it anyway..

Doesn't come very sharp but can be sharpened
Solid but not very sharp. I spent some time putting an edge on it. Works much better now. Factory was either afraid of a lawsuit or just too cheap.

Not sharp enough to cut agave
I am REALLY disappointed with this, especially considering what I paid for it. It's listed specifically as an agave cutter, but it won't cut agave. I haven't tried to sharpen it, but shouldn't need to do anything to a brand new tool to make it actually serve it's purpose. I would NOT recommend this.

Fair cutter that comes with dull blade
Heavily built Agave cutter. Blade is thick and did not have a sharp edge to cut with which makes it difficult to stab the base of the leaves. Could use a longer handle to maneuver to a better position to cut the thick leaves.

This is the right tool for a very specific job.
Big and heavy, it's essentially a flat, sharp, shovel. It has one purpose, which is severing the toxic sap agave you need to trim because it froze or the leaves rot or the cockroaches love it or you're making tequila. That's the only use. Once you're done with it you can stand on the corner of your lot with a big 7 inch brim hat lording over your perfectly-manicured agave sipping tequila and holding the Coa in your hand, blade up and away from your body like a conquering champion in the arena.

Amazingly fun and dangerous
This is an amazing tool. I need to preface this - I'm a strong average sized mid-60's woman and I'm allergic to the crystals in the sap of Agave Americana. I know this because I used a chain saw to remove one. Once. Eventually I let another one of the beastly agaves get out of hand again and finally found this tool. It's amazing and kinda' scary; be careful - but it's really fun! I used it every few days and in a few weeks I had removed all the leaves down to the stump.
