Q: Is this truly made by daiwa and is this truly made in japan? the price seems too good to be true and the wording has the typical floss of chinese merc

I have never read anything, anywhere stating otherwise. I agree that it seems to be too cheap to be any good but maybe we have just gotten used to paying too much for Seaguar?? Honestly, I keep spools of both brands in my leader bag and I have found the Daiwa to be at least as good as the Seaguar blue. But they do claim it and the Samurai fluoro are both made in Japan
