ST-EF500 3 x 7-Speed Brake/Shift Lever Set Black

I tried some cheap ones for about 1/2 the cost, they were junk and really didn’t work. These require a lot less effort to shift than the cheap ones, and I was able to tweak them to shift perfectly with only a couple minutes of fiddling. Overall, probably about 45 min to install and tune, very happy with them, works great on our 10 year olds bike. Skip the cheap Chinese knockoff. This is once again confirmation that you get what you pay for.

When I upgraded my bike’s brakes to Shimano V-Brakes, I discovered that my old brake levers weren’t compatible. That’s when I found the Shimano ST-EF500 Brake/Shift Lever Set, which integrates brake levers and shifters into one unit. This upgrade not only solved my compatibility issue but also gave me a chance to improve both the braking and shifting on my bike. The levers and shifters look great on the bike, as you can see from the after pictures (sadly, I didn’t take any before pictures). The handles have a sleek design and feel solid, giving my bike a more modern look and functionality. The set came with everything I needed to install both the front and rear. The one downside is the lack of proper instructions. While the package includes a URL to Shimano’s website, their instructions aren’t much better than having none at all. Fortunately, I was able to find detailed YouTube videos that walked me through the installation process step by step. Once I had the right guidance, installation was straightforward, and I’m really happy with how everything turned out. If you’re looking to upgrade your bike’s brakes and shifters, this set is a fantastic choice. Just be prepared to look up a video or two to get it installed properly. Highly recommended! Five stars!

These Shimano 3x8 combination rapid fire shifts and brakes work great. They were easy to install, and included cable housing, cable tips, cables, and cable end caps.

Exactly as described.. Reasonably priced. Found a hair line crack in the lever. As you can see at a distance you can't not the crack.

Fairly easy to install; not difficult to adjust at all Cheaper, plastic housings than originals, but honestly a decent set to get an older bike back to operational status. Good price for actual Shimano parts, which I hope will last longer than any of the 'knock-offs' I found when searching. Seem to shift/operate as smooth/good as the originals (when the original parts still worked). Fast shipper - parts showed up a day earlier than expected. Very satisfied w/ this purchase - Thanks for helping me get my ~20+ yr old KHS bike back to working, 365 Cycles!!!

When my previous shifter seized up, this was a straight-forward replacement - adding a cog-indicator I'd lacked. Installed quickly and works smoothly, miraculously requiring negligible alignment adjustment.

Não vou devolver porque o produto parece ser original.

Very simple to install. Good quality

This was for an old old bike that had Shimano EF-51 shifters. Shimano no longer appears to make those, but I found these instead and thought to give them a try. It turned out they were a perfect fit! The box really contained everything I needed: the two shfiters with brake levers, the cables, the cable housings, even brake cables + brake housings! The description did not say anything about cables or housings, though, so I actually had a separate set ordered from elsewhere and ended up with two. The Shimano set, however, showed some remarkable attention to detail: it had the small piece of shifter housing for the rear derailer ready for me! Making it isn't hard with the right tools, and I was surprised to see it. It is not necessary to change any of the cables or housings just to replace the shifters, but it makes no sense not to: those cables touch everything and you have to pull them all the way back to the shifters to change them. Shimano's install instructions were quite lacking, but YouTube helped me out. Everything installed without much trouble. Once I ran all the cables, I adjusted all the tensioners and the trim bolts, and everything worked great! My bike shifts quickly and accurately now, like new.

Bike parts are hard to find these days so i was very happy to get this item shipped very quickly from the States. thanks!
