Outstanding blades.
My former go to blades were Feathers. Merkur and Astra also served me well in the past. But, after wearing a beard for 6 months (used a Dovo Bismarck for trimming and cleanup) when I went back to shaving daily I found the Feathers and especially the Astras chewed up my face. They were suddenly horrible! So, with the Murker supply running low and they are not Czech made (with pissed me off) it was time to find a new blade.I tried these as well as Derby Extra and Derby Premium. Both of those are very good smooth blades. The Derby Premium is exceptionally good. The Wilkinson have a slight edge on the Deby Premium. I tried it with 2 different soaps (Mitchell’s Wool Fat and Tabac) and 1 Cream (Trumper rose scent). Also used 3 different razors, once with each of the soaps/cream. The razors were a Jagger de89, 1956 Gillette Redtip and a 1961 Gillette Fatboy (set at 4). Used Lilac Vegital from Clubman as after shave each time, shaved 2 x with each blade before changing razors and moving to a new blade. This blade is perfect for me. Can’t say it will be for everyone but I love it. It was flawless in each razor. No nicks, razor burn and a very smith glide with each lubricant. The shave was very close (3 passes; with, across and against with some neck clean up on a 4th). My girlfriend even noticed that my face was smoother. Now I’ve been shaving since the early 80’s mostly with a DE or straight razor (did pause on the DE in the 90’s when the blades were harder to find). My beard is thick and about 50% gray at this point so I don’t push blades past 2 shaves very often. For those two shaves I absolutely love this blade. Actually bought 200 of them. Now I actually use a Muhle r89 and a Merkur 34c often times too ( I have a bit a a razor habit. Considering rehab), but they shave so similar to the de89 that I didn’t see the need.So bottom line, if your looking for a new blade this is a very good one to consider.

The right blades for me, perfect for anyone new to DE razors
I have tried many other brands and varieties. The closest I came to finding near-perfect blades before were the pricey Vikings Blade Mild safety blades. Those went up to $20 for a 50-pack lately. They were sharper and more comfortable than Derby blades. These Wilkinson Swords are a further push in the right direction and half the price per blade over the VB Milds. They they cut slightly better with slightly less resistance and there is slightly less comfort, but it's still safe/comfortable enough that I have actually pushed in a bit with my razor for a closer cut and still did not cut myself. So due to them cutting better while still being comfortable enough to not cut me I'd rate these higher than the VB Milds.Mind you this could be my skin. Some people do better with pure stainless blades. Others get irritation from platinum coated blades. It could simply be a sensitivity to the angle they ground the blade edge. The coating and edge on the VB Milds and these Wilkinson Sword blades works very well with my skin. Derby and Astra blades almost feel like they break my skin out as I use them, even if they have some of the same materials as the blades I like. This is why sampler packs are out there, once you get your technique down with a DE safety razor you can properly compare blades and see what works for you. I do suggest these Wilkinson Sword blades as a good middle ground though, everyone says they are good, they are a middle of the road balance of sharp and safe, and they are made with quality materials and are not the most expensive. If I was to suggest a blade for someone new to safety razors it would be these.

My second favorite blade
I won't talk about my favorite (Persona USA), but these are a close second. I get such a smooth comfortable shave with these blades. Brand new Wilkinson Sword blades glide over my skin, while cutting comfortably close. I just shaved with a once used Wilkinson Sword that sat for 3 days... I shaved my 3-day growth, very thick, with ease and no nicks/ cuts. I typically get 3 shaves per blade, which I think is good as I'm a daily shaver and have thick facial hair. These are made in India; the quality is top notch. Overall, I will order these blades again.

Close shave with no nicks or razor burn
I learned to shave with a double-edge razor and used Wilkinson blades back in the early 70s. I have a heavy beard which destroyed multi-blade razors in less than 2 weeks. I got tired of the high cost of those blades and went back to a double-edge razor about 6 years ago. I have used a variety of blades in that period. The Wilkinson blades have become my favorite blades. I recently purchased a Henson AL13 Razor which holds the blade at a very aggressive angle. This resulted in nicks and razor burn with the blades I was using when I first received the AL13. I shave every day and change the blade every Saturday. I get almost 2 years of shaves from a pack of 100 blades. The Wilkinson blades stay sharp all week and don't make me look like I shaved with an angry cat. I have used blades from Merkur, Personna, Astra and others but I will not shave with any other blades except Wilkinson going forward.
