Easy to mount and a must have. You'll never drop a chain on the frame/bottom bracket again once you install this. No need to wait for your frame to get damaged when you can install this and avoid the damage and standing on the side of the road cussing the damage. This is a quality chain catcher that you can't even see on my Cervelo R5. If in doubt, just buy it!

I'm a long time professional bike mechanic, and this product works perfectly. I ended up using a longer derailleur fixing bolt as the SRAM Force derailleur I was installing had threads that didn't start until about 5 mm into the derailleur.

Having a chain catch is not only some insurance against reducing chain drop, it’s helps to protect your frame from the possible damage that can occur from that happening. These are light, and easy to install, and when properly set up they do a solid job of convincing your chain to jump back onto the small ring instead of falling down by your bottom bracket and possibly chewing up the frame. They are not 100% of the time going to stop it from occurring, but in my experience they stop it the majority of the time. I’ve put these on all my bikes that are compatible. Never once regretted it. Do be careful with possibly stripping the retention bolt. Probably the only negative I can say about this device.

If you have a carbon frame - you're crazy for not installing this; if you have aluminum...you're still leaving money on the table. When that chain jumps and hits your frame, it'll leave a notch in the material that may not compromise the frame's integrity (I guess it could if the chain slap is hard enough), but it'll definitely look terrible and overtime that exposed raw material will be more susceptible to elemental damage. Had my bike shop install it for free along with gear service...otherwise it'd be a $5-10 charge or they might do it for some coffee and gratitude. (You can also do it yourself...but if you have finicky gear tuning like I do...I let other people deal with the headache).

This chain catcher seems to be very well designed. It fits perfectly on my bike and has perfect clearance of the water bottle cage and I am able to get it within 0.5mm of the chain when it's in the small ring. I drop my chain only occasionally so I guess I won't really know how effective this thing is but if it protects my shiny new carbon frame then I am happy. My only complaint is that the screw which retains the chain catcher itself is soft and the head will strip easily. The instructions recommend a torque of 3-4 Nm for that screw, do NOT torque to that setting, you will strip the screw, hand snug is good enough and will hold the catcher in place. I used a torque wrench set to 3 Nm and as I was tightening I noticed the screw head began to deform so luckily I stopped before it was completely stripped. The larger screw which holds the derailleur does not have a problem with stripping and you can torque to the recommended 6 Nm with no problem. For your reference, front derailleur is SRAM Red AXS, great fit.

This is a well made product that day it's job. I had an issue with the washer in my kit, but k edge replied to my message within minutes and mailed me a replacement quickly. Great customer service.

I purchased this after getting a 2021 BMC Teammachine and dropping my chain repeatedly with shifts to the smaller chainwheel on a SRAM Force drivetrain. Readjusting the front mech even precisely according to SRAM's manual didn't do the trick. So this was my next maneuver. Installation is not hard, but did require pulling out the FD hanger bolt so that means the front mech has to be readjusted after it is installed. Result? After suffering 5 chain drops over the first 6 weeks I had the bike, I've now had no (zero) drops over the past 9 months of heavy riding. So I guess this K-Edge chain catcher works! Get it and put an end to chain drops that can damage your delicate carbon fiber frame.

Dropped chain a couple of times that scratched paint between small chain ring and bottom bracket area. Installed this chain catcher on a new build. Like the design which allows adjustment without affecting front derailleur position. With it in place, there is no way for the chain to drop and the only place the chain can go is the small chain ring when the front derailluer moves inward.

Eindeutig der beste Chaincatcher am Markt. Das Ding ist so steif und so leicht, absolute Meisterleistung. Mit ein wenig Geschick, gelingt der Austausch der Gegenmutter, ohne den Umwerfer zu verstellen. Danach ist das Setup einfach. K-Edge hätte evtl. beser daran getan bei der Fixierschraube des Catchers Edelstahl zu nutzen, aber so eine Schraube hat man ja zuhause.

Brand new bike and dropped the chain causing numerous paint chips down to the bare aluminum. Oh well, bikes are meant to be ridden I suppose. Regardless I installed one of these to prevent future drops/frame damage. Easy to install even though I have no experience with bike repair and seems to be working. Done a few questionable shifts since and the chain has stayed put. Very well machined and high quality. One thing to note is that the metal spacer piece is quite sharp so it took a bit of paint off the mounting point while torquing it up. My mounting point had most of the paint sanded off from the factory so not a big deal. Just a heads up.

Utilisé sur cadre CUBE avec un dérailleur SRAM AXS. Parfaitement compatible. Installation facile. Bien serré, il n'y aura plus de soucis de déraillement lors du passage rapide de vitesses vers l'intérieur.
