Coastal - Loops 2 - Double Handle Dog Leash, Red, 1" x 06'

Bought this 9 years ago for my previous lab. Now my dog is 80 pounds and he does pull some. We are still training him, but this leash is on its second dog and still going strong. It has lasted all these years, it’s strong and easy to clean. I highly recommend this.

I bought a new one of these to replace an old one and they aren't as thick as they used to be. It's still a nice leash, but the fabric is thinner than it used to be.

More like ribbon than a dog leash material. I bought two to replace the ones I had which were frayed but these are a poor replacement.CONS* thin material cuts into your hand* an unmanageable six feet long which, when you have two dogs, is too much and gets tangled and is cumbersome* limited color choice ( might only be important to me )PROS* strong clasp gives me confidence it won’t break* sewn well, quality construction* long enough to tie into a knot which helps as something comfortable to hold onto (plus it reduces some of the six feet of length)Bottom line: not the best, not what I wanted but too much to return so I’ll make it work.

This is a really nice sturdy leash. I have a dog that is a rescue and not used to walking on a leash. I really like the second loop up close to the collar to aid in walking close at heel. The only thing I'm not crazy about is the stiffness of it. But, this is not a fault of the leash as it is due to the material it's made from and I expected that. I got the red and it is a beautiful vibrant color. We've had compliments on it when out walking. It has a very nice sturdy latch to attach to the collar and has held up to much pulling and tugging by our dog as we've trained her. I prefer a soft cotton leash for tactile reasons when holding it and have found with this one I prefer to only use it when wearing gloves due to it chafing my hands when the dog pulls. That said, it is a great leash and my husband prefers this over any of our other ones. It was a great price here on Amazon and should this one ever wear out, I'd be back to replace it.

Heavy-duty without weighing too much, nice and thick and substantial, this should hold even the largest dog no problem. I'm a dog walker and have many other leashes but I wanted one with a built-in "traffic lead" (loop handle close to the dog's collar) for walking two pretty big client dogs who have aggression issues (a German Shepherd and a Greyhound mix). Their owners both use 1/2-inch leather leashes, which don't give a very good grip (especially when wet) and don't have a traffic handle. This leash has substantial width and a texture that provide a decent grip, the 6-foot length lets you use it as a regular leash to give your dog room to sniff or relieve themselves, and the traffic lead lets you keep him/her securely close to your body when you are passing something the dog might lunge at/try to eat off the ground/etc., or if you are navigating through a crowd. The price from this seller at the time I purchased it was about 40% less expensive than the same leash being sold by others on Amazon.

It's alright. The quality seems fine. But there are a couple of things I don't like about it.1) I was specifically looking for a leash with the second "traffic handle." I don't like that this one attaches so close to the clip. I have fairly long reach (I'm 6'1"), but can't reach the second handle with one hand, while keeping the leash taut with the other. If my dog gets nervous about something and I need to control him, I need to wrap the leash a couple of times to take up enough slack to reach the other handle. Having to wrap the leash around my hand to control the dog is why I want the other handle... now it's a two part process, instead of one. 6-8" further up the leash would be much better.2) It's kind of floppy and soft. Look how the blue one in the pic wants to lie flatter than the green one (my 12+ year old Coastal). Didn't occur to me this would matter, but it tangles around my fingers, my dog, branches way more than old green one.

This is a very flimsy paper thin leash. I was looking for the same quality COASTAL leashes and collars I used to buy but I guess that's a thing of the past. The photo is my hand where my dog pulled on the leash and I ended up with a slice when this very thin leash lashed across my hand.

I'm a volunteer dog walker at a pet shelter. The shelter has plenty of leashes, but some are quite wimpy, while others have faulty hardware, and I grew tired of searching for an appropriate leash at the shelter for the dog I was going to walk. I walk a number of dogs, from quite small to big, strong dogs who have not had any leash experience. For the big ones, I like a leash with two handles, so that I can have better control of the dog in certain situations. This leash (I ordered two, one red and one blue) serves the purpose well, strongly constructed of nylon, with heavy duty hardware. Like some other reviewers, I would like to have the lower handle attached a little further back, but I have not found a leash anywhere that is designed that way. Ideally, the lower handle position should be adjustable, but that would probably result in a less sturdy and more expensive leash. I feel that this leash does the job well and is reasonably priced.

Love these.. bought them when I realised how good they were when walking my friend's dog... second loop is really useful.

J'en suis à ma 4e laisses avec ma super Beauceron de 7 mois qui se prend pour un lapin!Elle adore gruger les laisses... la seule qui survit c'est une vieille du même type que celle ci.La qualité de la laisse est vraiment bien, le nylon est épais, l'attache est solide, les coutures sont bien faites, j'ai testé en tirant et le tout semble solide.Ma Beauceron a un poids de 70 lbs, pour l'instant, elle sera autour de 90 lbs et je crois que ce type de laisse est parfait pour un chien de cette taille puisqu'elle permet de garder le chien près quand il y a des gens et ne cassera pas à la première poussée.

i have been using a leash like this for the last ten years and it was time to replace it before it broke. Compared to the old one, this leash is of a superior quality and will keep my Bernese mix safe. A double handle leash is a must for medium to large dog.
