If you LOVE to clean your floors twice, this machine is NOT for you.
I have three cats and three humans living in my house. That's A LOT of hair, dirt, and gross stuff. And we live in the desert, so dirt is constantly finding its way in, even though I have a strict WIPE YOUR DAMN FEET rule. I came to HATE cleaning the floors because it's so time consuming. Every weekend, I'd spend AT LEAST an hour vacuuming the tile and THEN mopping. And we know that mopping is more difficult and time consuming than vacuuming, especially if you want it done RIGHT. The swiffer mop just doesn't do a good job....what a waste of money that thing was.But then, a magical thing happened! I was mopping the other weekend, and just so happened to wonder if there was a machine that would vacuum and mop at the SAME TIME...surely someone has invented such a thing, and if not, I was going to patent my idea and become a millionaire. So I hopped into my trusty Amazon app and BOOM! I found several such machines, and after I got over my disappointment of not becoming a millionaire, I did some research and read lots of reviews and decided on the Bissell Symphony Pet. I was crossing my fingers that this thing was the answer to my prayers. When it was delivered I was SO excited that I did something I've NEVER done before, and cleaned on a weekday. I put the machine together (easy, there are three pieces you snap into each other, no tools), filled it with distilled water (we have HARD water out here in the desert), slapped on a mopping pad and plugged it in. It took 30 seconds to heat the water, then I pressed "Vac" and "Hi" steam, pulled the trigger, and nearly cried.I am so happy to say that this machine works SO WELL!!! The results are BETTER than what I was hoping! The vacuum is powerful, and it sucks up cat hair that's 4 inches away from the opening, which is more than I can say for that other thing I was vacuuming with..but that piece of devils dirt crap is in the trash now. Anyway, the steam is wonderful! It just melts away whatever sticky mess it comes across and I don't have to use ANY chemicals. Sometimes it needs a couple of passes over heavy traffic areas, but that's probably to be expected. My floor is so CLEAN!!! And it only took 15 minutes to clean all of the tiled areas (upstairs hallway, 3 bathrooms, foyer, living room, dining room, and kitchen). It's easy to empty the dirt bin, and I don't have to touch the filter or anything, unlike that other vacuum, which as I mentioned, is in the trash now. I threw the dirty mop pads in the washer and they're ready for next weekend. BUY THIS MACHINE IF YOU HATE CLEANING YOUR FLOORS!!!

Honest review-mom with young children.
I am a stay at home mom to a 1 year old professional food thrower/occasional floor licker (yea I don’t get it either). I am also a clean freak and live on a small farm so any cleaning apparatus’ I own better be worth their salt! That being said I love love love this steam cleaner. I previously owned a bissel steam cleaner only. The best and most obvious advantage of this is the vacuum and steam cleaner combined. It saves a huge amount of time for me!! That being said, this one doesn’t seem to get quite as hot as my last steam cleaner so you have to go a little slower, however, as I said before, your cutting out the vacuuming so I believe overall it still takes me much less time. The other advantage I see with this is it seems to go through the water a little slower which is nice. It also doesn’t seem to use as much water, so the floor dries faster as well. Refilling is easier as well since you don’t even have to remove the tank, therefore don’t have to wait for it to reheat. I also love the removable head. My last one I had to turn the mop over to put the pad on and off. I did find a couple learning curve type things that will help get the most out of it.- you have to squeeze the handle to activate the steam. This requires extremely light pressure so your hand won’t get tired, but it actually doesn’t say anywhere that’s how you activate it. But make sure your holding it, otherwise your only vacuuming.-To get the vacuum to work most efficiently, you should push it forward on DRY flooring, and pull back along the same line to steam. The vacuum is towards the front of the head, if you pull back on dry flooring, it will wet the dirt on the floor, making it not as easy to suck up.Overall I really love this, it works fantastic!!!

Technological Wonder Time Saver
I've had this vacuum for well over 1 1/2 years so feel I can accurately assess it's performance. I use it primarily on my porcelain tile kitchen floor. I love the fact you can vacuum and mop at the same time--a great time and effort saver. Overall I am very pleased.Pros---Steam replaces chemicals and detergents, and it works well.--Machine washable, thick heavy duty cloth mop pads--cost effective and environmentally friendly.--Very good instructions right on the vacuum on how to fill, and make the steam work. Also how to install the mop pad and tray. This vacuum is quite user-friendly--quick and easy to use.--Dust cup comes off very easily, cleans out thoroughly, and goes back together with great ease. Love the pump to remove dust and pet hair that sticks to the filter. Whole process takes only a few seconds.--Very easy to maintain. Comes apart to clean out clogs in the vacuum and filter and dust cup, and parts are very easily replaced back into their respective positions. No fumbling around trying to precisely line up confusing pieces. Specifically, the tubes along the side of the unit that connect the vacuum head to the dust cup actually come off the unit and pull apart to clean out any larger item, i.e. sugar packet wrappers, bread ties, pieces of cellophane, that may get clogged in them, or in the vacuum head itself. Then they are replaced very easily. Again, very user friendly on this point.--Floor is visibly wet with thin coating of "steamy condensation" and dries very quickly--within 4 or 5 minutes on my tile floor.Cons----The vacuum suction could be better, hence minus one star. It works very well on loose crumbs, dust bunnies or cat fur balls on a hard floor, and even picks up my cat's dry food pieces. (You must clean out the dust cup regularly to work properly.) But anything larger like paper or plastic wrappings, sticky items, or unusually shaped items (bread ties) can get jammed in the route from vacuum head to dust cup. However, this is all easily cleaned out as discussed above.--The steam feature does an okay job on the grout, but not a deep cleaning. Wish that cleaned up a little better.--The plastic hook to hang this vacuum broke :(This vacuum is not a deep cleaning tool, or of high grade heavy duty construction. It's mostly all plastic, but that is a plus for weight. However, it is perfect for day to day vacuuming/wet cleaning of accidental spills or sticky messes on hard floors. I have even used it on my hallway parquet floor, but would not do that too often for fear of damaging the wood with the steam. It is truly a time and effort saver!!! Combining the stick vac with steam mop is pure genius and this is designed quite well and works the way it is supposed to. I would recommend Bissell products for their ingenuity, quality and value on this floor cleaning tool. This has been one of my better purchases I must say, and I have purchased a ton of various vacuums and floor cleaning tools over the years.
