Back in October 2012, I developed severe diarrhea and abdominal pain, to the point where I was going to the bathroom 10-12 times each day. I did not connect the dots back then but this all started shortly after I was on Penicillin for a tooth infection and Bactrim for acne. I lost 35 pounds and have never been so sick in my life. I did not have insurance and I was working in a call center where we had scheduled bathroom breaks. I had no choice but to quit my job. I assume I had C-Diff because now that I have put it all together, it makes sense. I didn't know about Florastor until I read an article on CNN about probiotics about a woman who was in a similar situation as me. This stuff works! Within a week, I was having formed stools again and I was only going about once or twice per day. I have been on it for about 3 weeks and I cannot even describe the difference. I am eating more fiber, beans, etc and I don't have diarrhea 10 times per day like before. In fact, I have only had diarrhea a few times (most likely due to dairy I ate) and my abdominal pain is 75% better. Even my weight has stabilized. I am still planning on going to a gastroenterologist now that I have insurance to get a formal diagnosis but Florastor has been a life saver. I was beginning to lose all hope and in such despair over how sick and horrible I felt. Florastor has given me hope to never give up. Give Florastor a try! What have you got to lose????

RN here. I take this and the generic one. The brand name is better but it is sooooo expensive. Amazon had a sale on it so it was really cheap. I will use the generic when I run out and am broke. I have so many GI issues such as diverticulitis (colon perforated), gastritis,duodenitis, esophageitis, gallbladder removed, gluten free, dairy free, low fiber. Basically my life sucks. I was given this as a sample by my doctor and WOW. This doesn't cure my issues but it significantly helps. I can't tolerate probiotics at all but this is different. This sometimes wipes out any inflammation or pain I have. Let's just say I don't look 6 months pregnant anymore. It will not give you a yeast infection like other people say. Some people just don't understand the yeast science so don't let those reviews deter you. This is also good for when you are on antibiotics (antibiotics cam cause yeast infections).

Florastor as mentioned by my doctor is the only Probiotic Supplement approved by the FDA for gut health. Florastor works to restore my bio-gut when it gets out of whack, and doesn't give me any problems in my gut while it's working. I initially did a 20 day protocol recommended by dr. Now I use it for the occasional constipation and it works very gently. I have had 3 bouts of colitis, the first being severe and lasted 6 months. That is when my dr. recommended I restore my bio-gut with Florastor. I didn't use it through the other 2 bouts of colitis, but the next time I have a colitis attack, I will try it.

Dislike the “blister” packaging - prefer capsules in a bottle.

I have been on/off chemotherapy since 2014 so my GI tract is quite literally a train wreck at this point. My stomach was sensitive to the majority of foods in my diet. Not anymore! Florastor helped my gut function as optimally as I can remember, maybe even better than before I started treatment! The specific probiotic in Florastor is extremely effective in managing diarrhea - IBS, travelers, actue, C-diff, etc...I traveled to Europe a week after I finished a round of chemotherapy. Took Florastor for three days leading up to departure, and for the entirety of our trip. I could eat stinky French cheese and escargot with absolutely no stomach issues. My stomach feels invincible while taking Florastor.I want to take Florastor every day for the rest of my life... if only it was a little more affordable. I was paying around $50/50ct box - then I found it on Amazon! At first I was skeptical ordering from Amazon because the price was so low - thinking to myself it must be expired or something.... The two packages I received last week (4/27/2017) had expiration dates of 2019. Boom.
