The handles are a comfortable size and shape. The carving blades are set firmly in the handles and are sharp. Good beginner set, reasonably priced. I've used them successfully on wood and lino.

I have owned these this set for years and these have worked extremely well on just about every wood I have tried. They came incredibly sharp out of the box. Sharp enough they are able to slice through endgrain on soft wood like cedar/pine without any tearing. (Very difficult to achieve!) Size is perfect for doing small/detailed carvings and the edge retention is incredible!

I use these for whittling and wood carving. They are wonderfully sharp and come with a very clever case to house them.The chisels are great for detail work and I’ve used all 5. There is a V-gouge, an angled gouge, a rounded flat chisel and two different sizes of rounded gouges.I’ve only had them about a week so I can’t speak on how they hold their edge, but I’m very pleased with them so far.Please don’t use these without cut resistant gloves though! They are extremely sharp and very easy to injure yourself with otherwise.The spoon pictured I was able to carve out the pith with the smallest round gouge. It did a beautiful job.

I do a lot of wood carving (caricature, ornaments, and stuff...). I use FlexCut, Morakniv, Ramelson, Robert Sorby, and other carving brands. I was quite surprised of the quality of the Power Grip brand. The blades are sturdy and sharp. They maintain an edge for a very long time. A leather strope and compound (green is usually good enough). I find that they also sharpen easily. The handles are very comfortable and they do not roll around like some brands. I believe that beginners should always start with quality, affordable knives. These knives are good for all levels of carvers. This set also comes with a nice plastic case that when opened raises the handles for easy access.

Nice set, not much variety but it works well, came sharp and is easy enough to keep sharp. Before this all i had was a flexcut knife so this has helped me expand my carving quite a bit. Good for beginner like me or i'm sure would be good for more experienced too.

Could be the best $30 I’ve ever spent! I have since bought much more expensive carving tools, but these gouges are real workhorses. I return to them again and again for carving wood blocks. Holding up great after two years.👍
