Crystal clear sound
I recently purchased these headphones for use in my weekend DJ gigs. Asides from the sound quality, I am really impressed by the comfort, as I had these on for 5 hours this weekend without any issues, and their overall design. These are also lighter than other DJ headphones I have used in the past without compromising the quality.

Good, but not perfect.
Clamping force to high for me. It is difficult to use them for long period of time especially if you wear glasses.Sound very good, but it is not impressive. The impedance of 45 Ohms makes them suitable for mobile phones and laptops, but they cannot be used at max. volume with a laptop as it is too high. The turning mechanism for the ear pads works OK, but I rarely use it. I would prefer a 360 degree turning. This thing is 50 pounds more expensive than the sennheiser HD25. I decided to go for the Technics cause look nicer and more robust as well as the known problem of having to get new cables for the HD25. However, now I am not sure if I made the right decision.Overall satisfaction mark: 70%

For DJs, this has everything you need
I've been looking for new DJ headphones so naturally, I am intrigued by Technics (I have their DJ equipment and it's great).I have to say, these Technics headphones don't disappoint. It has everything a DJ looks for in headphones: sturdy swivel cups, coiled cables, one-ear monitoring, and detachable single sided cable. These have become pretty standard in DJ headphones but where the EAH-DJ1200s shine is in its sound separation. I just received them over the weekend and brought these to a gig to see how they test in live environments. The bass separation is incredible (the 40mm drivers makes a big difference here).Whether you're an aspiring DJ or a current DJ, I recommend checking these out.

Sound quality awful
Used the previous model for 10+ years and they sound better than these. If they weren’t falling apart I wouldn’t have upgraded. Unfortunately I’m a creature of habit and this model was the only one I was willing to use, so I’ll stick with it since I only need to hear the beat. Sound quality atrocious though not sure who let these through quality control

They are good
Bought these two years ago and I am still happy with them. I had to do a pepsi challenge with them this year against HDJ-X7. The Technics won the challenges in my opinion. These headphones can be used with your smartphone to play your favourites using Poweramp or Aimp but the true usage is when you feel those drivers vibrating..
