Having a one size flat bench isn't the best option. The seat height greatly affects a pianists ability to play well.The AW bench comes preassembled, so there is no fuss. It comes right out of the box, ready to go to work. It also supports a good deal of weight. The wood is sturdy, so there is no worry there, even for a larger pianist.Recommended! *****

I have searched and searched for benches that can be height adjusted- that are also attractive, good quality, and affordable. What a find! As a professional harpist, I also wanted a bit of subtle elegance to match the harp. I am so happy!

As others stated the “Brown” is really cognac when referencing the seat portion. The legs and underside of the bench are indeed glossy brown. This bench is NOT wood but MDF or something similar. But for under $100, it’s mostly acceptable and sturdy enough to hold me and my kid for piano practice.For assembly, make sure to raise/extend the seat out about 10 cranks/turns so you have enough room to install the legs. I saw another review where they had trouble installing the legs from going in correctly because the seat was flush to the underside of the bench.Also, assembly goes smoother when you use a 17mm (or 11/16th) socket wrench rather than the cheap metal wrench they provide.Inside the bench there’s a locking arm when you open it and about 1.5inches deep of storage space. I appreciate the upholstered black felt inside.Overall, It’s okay for under $100 and mostly matches my piano. Functional and doesn’t break the bank. Has its quirks but I’m not trying to spend $200+ for a more solid name brand chair that my kids will eventually wreck.

I don't know why there are reviews saying "poor quality." This bench is sturdy, comfortable, and inviting. My kids love sitting on it and playing the piano. It's small for a duet, but two people can squeeze in together and play. It's very comfortable and well made. For the price, I feel like I got something pretty great. I love how easy it is to adjust the height. It took 5 minutes to assemble, which is mostly aligning and tightening the four bolts so that it doesn't wobble.

This is a nice bench but the rubber legtips stick to my floor over & over again. Unfortunately, I didn't discover this till my return window closed.

My mother wanted a stool for her makeup table. Made well and mom said it is very comfortable.

We purchased this bench 8 months ago. The first order we had to return because it was damaged. Now, we came to discover that it has termites! We read up on it and turns out termites can live dormant in wooden furniture for long periods of time. None of our other wooden furniture has damage, so it was obvious this bench was the issue. Gross!
