My students love these books
I wish she would bring back her Etsy store for coloring pages though! My 3rd graders loved those even more than the drawing books.

Fun and simple
The book is great. It breaks the designs down in such a fun and simple way, it doesn't take long to start creating on your own. There is no wrong or right, it's just going with the flow.If you are drawing for the first time, this book is like step 2 to Kawaii Doodle Craft. Once you get the basics from there, you will be able to apply that skill to these drawings. If you already know how to draw, then you will be fine to dive in.

Good Therapy!
I have all three books now. Doodling these happy kawaii creatures is an excellent thing to do to help cope with stress. This book, I really like because it shows how to arrange kawaii creatures into a whole scene. Thank you Pic Candle, for sharing your ideas.

This surprised me
I'm not and never have been a cartoon-y sort of artist. I never felt I had the mindset for it, and I envied those who could toss off a cartoon or a caricature with (seemingly) little or no effort. But I was exploring some new-to-me how to art books and thought "What the heck?"I am thrilled that I did because I'm having so much fun with kawaii images. They're not strictly me in terms of how I imagine my cartooning style (assuming I ever develop one) but I'm learning a lot from copying and riffing off of the images presented in the book. (See attached photos for two of the earliest pages from my sketchbook.) I'm learning more about control, gesture, expression, and streamlining by doing these exercises than I've ever learned in the past, and discovering that maybe I have the cartooning gene after all. Maybe I can do this thing, even enough to please myself, enough to create a consistent style that I'm comfortable with. And in the meantime, I'm drawing some darn cute things, which is never bad. I'm using some of them to decorate my cooking and writing journals, a nice change from stickers. So yes, you can do this. You may never reach professional levels. You may only ever make yourself smile. But it's such a good feeling to create something that it'd be silly not to try. And this book makes it relatively painless.

Salvation for Lunchbox Notes
I ordered this for my daughter, but honestly, I might use it more. She's interested in art and drawing, and over the summer I had theme weeks to try to beat the frustration of quarantine. We did all kinds of stuff: chef week, Christmas in July, and Japanese week. I think Japanese week might have been as popular as Christmas. We immersed ourselves in culture - especially pop culture. My kids had bento boxes for lunch, we watched Godzilla movies and anime, and we did deep dives into YouTube, where they became introduced to capsule hotels and kawaii. This is a great little drawing guide. What I like is that it teaches more than the basics; it shows kids how to layer characters to make scenes. Often kids just draw the central characters and leave them hanging in space solo. This gives them awareness. In the back is a seek and find, full of cute little characters.I put lunchbox notes in with my kids' lunches, and they really like it when I draw stuff. What sucks is that I'm not an artist. I may actually steal some ideas from this before I give it to my daughter!

Creative and Encouraging
I'm not an artist by any stretch of anyone's imagination, but the author of this book has given me the hope and encouragement that I need to attempt sketching out some doodles.I want to sketch for embroidery projects, but have little talent. This book offers practical and basic tips for sketching with a focus on doodles, while developing your confidence to create.I like how it starts out with a very basic design and then guides you on to learn how to bring depth, whimsy, life, etc. to your doodles. Again, it is very encouraging and helpful. Towards the back of the book the author has us putting whole scenes together and by the time that you get there, you are ready for it. Enjoy!

great gift for a variety of ages
Way, way back when, when the dinosaurs roamed the earth, I was a Graphic Design major. Art was my thing. But time passes, and life moves on, and now I help run a trucking company. This book spoke to me. I figured, if it didn't work for me, I would pass it to my daughter who just graduated with Honors with an art degree. But .... I do not think this book will make it to her. I love it. It is simple and easy and relaxing. I have some new blend-able pens coming and plan to color my doodles *and* the doodles at the back of this book. I took a snap of my very first doodle page and kinda just kept coming back to it all day. So much fun. Can't wait to color it.Well laid out, just a delight to browse through. Would make a great gift for a variety of ages. No regrets at all. Looking forward to playing with it more and getting better.

It’s a Kawaii World!
Kawaii Doodle World is an excellent follow up book to Pic Candle/Zainab Khan’s other Kawaii doodle books. This book takes the character sketch further with layering, and pattern design. The instructions are limited, but the visual examples are excellent. It would have been helpful, to have the Kawaii Doodle Refresher Course at the beginning of the book. Though, the characters broken down in this part are only a brief selection of characters featured in this book. So, I do recommend reading Pic Candle/Zainab Khan’s previous books that focus on character doodles first. There is a nice progression of difficulty from the beginning to the end of this book. With attention to layering characters, and filler designs. As in the title, they may look like doodles, but there is a lot of sketching. Especially when the characters become more complex, and more layered. Following the Tips and Tricks does help when finishing the doodles. The eye and mouth placement are really important, as an uneven ratio can give the characters creepy expressions. Again, this is a more challenging kawaii design book, that includes a lot of time sketching to get the designs as cute as Pic Candle/Zainab Khan’s. A super cute, kawaii, way to relax and draw.

Awesome book
I love this book. I has a step by step approach but unlike some some step by step books I have this hasn’t taken the approach of combining what should have been several steps into one just to fit it all on one page. In fact each finished piece is spread over 4 whole pages and is easy to follow. That said I would still highly recommend you did as I and follow the authors first book kawaii doddle class and follow that before jumping into this. This book is a class in how to put it all together into a finished piece, it doesn’t give you the step by step to drawing each monster or food item first that’s not what this book is for, this book assumes you can draw a mushroom for example from start to finish already but it shows you how to take your one mushroom and combine it with several others and some decorations and turn it into a finished full fleshed out art piece.
