you can be anything, be batman!
seems over all solid, used it to pull down some dead tree limbs, did that job alright. Of course, I had to try giving it a "test climb" and the rope had an understandable stretch to it, but held. They don't recommend it, but hey, knowledge is knowledge. I will buy another one if needed.

Seems strong enough to hold a person.
Weak point is the threaded stem that passes through flattened area of hooks and then has bolt attached holding hooks in place. We used this to pull thick vines from out of trees. With two of us pulling on it the stem did bend. Would have held one of us without bending. Good product but wasn't real heavy duty.

NOT AT ALL EVEN MEDIUM DUTY
My application of this supposed grappling hook was pretty passive. Perhaps I exceeded it’s capacity, but, if so, it was easy to do so!The first use, admittedly, was not quite as described as a potential application, but also, not far removed either. Specifically, I used it as an upper limb hold/belay on a 10 meter, 40-year-old, dead tree I was felling from its near-street location in my front suburban lawn. Basically, I was using it to make sure this large dead tree would not end up in the street upon felling. Yeah, well, I just say this obviously substandard allow metal hook should be used ... I don’t know ... in an office or something, for whatever reason. In short, a 2-meter drop from a toss hit soft turf and bent it immediately, and then again, and again (Yeah, first-time grappling hook tosser here.) EACH following fall on, again, soft turf bent the ___ out of this shabby, substandard hook.

I'm Batgramma
It works pretty good to help pull my old ass up hills.I haven't tried to walk up the side of a building yet. I'm waiting until I get pretty drunk.

strong solid metal hook
The hook is made of stout steel which appears to be strong. The rope provided is of good quality and the assembly was easy. The only negative thing I would comment on, and it is minor, is that the hook came unassembled and even though it had only 5 pieces it did not show where to put the spring. However, if you look at the picture you can determine the spring goes above the first hook section.

Good price ... grapple is stout
Pro: grapple is sturdy and synthetic rope seems good quality. I intend to purchase another. Con: no assembly instructions is annoying. I purchased additional metric nuts and washers to beef up the flimsy theaded connection of grapple to rod.
