SharpieMetallic Permanent Markers, Fine Point, Silver, 36 Pack

We use dozens of these for our manufacturing company. They are great.I can't answer how other companies stock their inventory but the six or so containers of these I've had work fine.I posted some comments on other people's reviews: Sharpie used to have printed on each pen "store upside down" that is, point down. They stopped putting on that on the pens for some reason. These pens will clog up if they are stored "right side up", point sticking up and appear to die. Dipping these silver dry markers in a little rubbing alcohol real quick will sometimes get them working right again.That being said, metallic-color Sharpies don't have the same life-span as colored (especially the black color) Sharpies. They have about 75% of the life-span.The price is phenomenal. We used to pay $3/marker at office supply stores.

We use the markers to trace our stained glass patterns.

I garden, and these markers are great to use on nursery pots or to label seedlings in those 6-packs. Writing is still legible after a couple of years outside but does eventually fade. I got a big pack to share inexpensively with my garden group. If you write on dirty/dusty surfaces, the tip will clog up, but it'll generally come back wtih a good rub with a paper towel and a bit of a rest... so it's nice to have 2 in your pocket for when this happens! Good on any dark surface.I ordered these again (October 2017) and, instead of the packaging shown, I received three 12-pack boxes. Same great product, no problem with the markers I've tested so far.

I'm using it for welding and metal work. Doesn't work well in the cold and tip doesn't with stand heat. Usually has to be shaken vigorously to revive it. Doesn't hold up well to grease and grim, but if you can keep it clean and prep your surface well it's as expected. A little worried about shelf life of bulk purchase since they need to be revived when I use them.

Love that Sharpie offers these silver ink markers. They show up great on dark paper & are also great to add some metallic color to drawings.

These sharpies are so useful on dark surfaces. I teach Art, and we used these to decorate black sketchbooks. They have great Sharpie tips (at least at first) and have a long life span. Great deal!

Got a love sharpie, marks on everything and is very visible. As a metal worker, the silver markers work great for marking on black iron pipe and for black iron angle and other dark metal. Highly visible, and once dry very resistant to smudging.

Sorry...but I have ordered these every year from different sources, and give them out to my students. The past 3 years, the quality has slipped dramatically, and I would say 60% or more work for less than 10 min. if at all. They are dry or almost dry, and if you apply pressure to try and activate the ink, it makes the point "mush". I don't blame the shipper, and really need to take this up with Sanford, since quality control is definitely not there!
