Yeah, it's a great budget tool
This works great. The depth stop dial (threaded post closest to the handle) allows you to avoid over squeezing and damaging your threads until you get the hang of it. I really like the 10-32 mandrel, which we use a lot in aviation, some cheaper locally available models don't have the 10-32 mandrel. (They have the 10-24) I bought two tools so I don't have to swap out mandrels, and they are inter-changeable but this one works great. I use aluminum exclusively and am not sure how it sets steel rivnuts. I find it so nice to have the entire number, letter and dimensional drill bit set, so I can have an exact tight fit. Doesn't come with rivets, but airplanes need specific rivets for the application, so no problems.

Great Tool For The Price
Works well, does the job!Put two 8-32 anchors in a storm door frame, to replace two panel clamps that had sheared off with use. Works well, albeit a bit awkwardly. Changing mandrels ia a bit more difficult than on a pop rivet tool!Strongly recommend using aluminum riv nuts, although I did do a couple of steel ones for practice, and to test the tool.

Important information for aviation users.
For you aviation mechanics, do not under any circumstances try to use this tool on BF Goodrich Riv-Nuts unless you grind the pilot bumps off of the nose pieces first. The pilots are for AVK AL style and it's clones. Other than that, it's decent enough, though build quality is a mixed bag. It's certainly the most complete setup of the plier style AVK knockoff tools with an included 10-32 mandrel.

Works great!
My high end aluminum outdoor furniture rusted on the inside and I couldn't screw into it after putting on new slings. Thought I would have to drill through and have an ugly bolt holding things together. This tool worked perfectly. I watched a video on you tube to see how it worked and it was very easy. My furniture is back together and even I can't tell which ones were repaired!

Good stuff.
I was skeptical about this tool until it arrived, feels real solid when using it, tried it on 10-32 size steel riv nuts many times and never give up. Didn't try the 1/4-20 yet, but will find out soon.

I've been using one like it for 10 years or so with no problems
I note most of the negative reviews folks were using steel nutzerks.... DON'T. You might get away with the small ones, but this tool is NOT heavy duty. I've been using one like it for 10 years or so with no problems.. with ALUMINUM nutzurks. I know they do make a steel nutzurk that, instead of expanding, the center piece pulls into the body, but dont know where to buy them (used them years ago.... didn't take much force to seat them

Great for Aluminum Rivnuts
I used this for 10-24 and 1/4 x 20 aluminum rivnuts with no problems. That's what this tool is designed to do. If I wanted to install carbon steel or stainless steel, I'd go with a more robust system. I wish the gun had a little bit more reach when tightening rivets and removing the tool after the nut was expanded was awkward. However, it worked as described and definitely got the job done. I had to punch out one nut out of twenty or so. Otherwise it worked fine and I'll definitely use it again. If you're looking for a better way to mount plates and brackets on sheet metal than sheet metal screws, this is the way to go. Very pleased with the results.

Disappointed...
I purchased this tool for use with 8-32 steel Rivnut inserts. I found that the threaded 8-32 tip was very loose when threaded into the insert.Basically, the thread on the tool tip was severely undersized and only minimally engaged the thread in the insert. When the tool was operated to cinch the insert, the threaded tip stripped out of the insert before the insert had deformed enough to lock into the sheet metal that was receiving the insert. In fact, when unscrewing the tool, I found a thin "curl" of metal around the threaded tip...it was the thread metal shaved off of the inside of the insert!!As I find more and more in these days of cheap tools, I had to "remanufacture" the product. I am fortunate to have a lathe and a full compliment of metal working tools. I had to cut off the 8-32 tip and drill, tap and thread in a length of 8-32 threaded rod that had the correct thread diameter. A lot of work. The result was a useable tool...now the thread on the tip fully engages the insert and it does not strip out before the cinching takes place. To further add insult to injury, I found that the knurled "nosepiece" corresponding to the 8-32 tip was threaded at an angle relative to the axis of the tip so that it would not seat properly in the tool. So I had to rework that too!I now have a functioning 8-32 insert tool after a couple of hours of machining. I have not tried the other thread sizes but I expect similar problems. It is a shame since the basic "metal" is present in the tool...it is just so poorly manufactured that it does not function.I may have received a lemon, but I believe what I found can account for another review that I read that indicated that the tool worked for awhile then failed. This is case where I would seriously recommend spending more money and buying another brand or finding a manual, simple wrench driven tool.
