Exactly what I needed!
This fake rock was exactly what I had been hoping to find. It blends in extremely well with the rock from my landscaping and the key fits inside perfectly. There was a little baggy inside to keep the key from getting wet, but it was flimsy, so I didn’t use it. The slide on the bottom was very easy to close as well. I definitely recommend it!

Look and fit
I love that it looks like a real rock. It blends in with soil, grass, leaves and other rocks. The only thing is the door is very loose and when you hold it it easily slides off. So I got some clear tape and stuck it on the sides. Locked myself out when attending a birthday dinner just this week and this came to the rescue perfectly

Looks Real
I love that this rock is able to blend in with some decorative stone that we have in our yard. This is a perfect spot to store keys and I'm so happy with the realistic look of it - never would guess at first glance that it is a false rock for hiding keys! Have ordered two now and so happy with both of them. Would definitely recommend these to family members and friends since they also have a very low price to them!

Disappointed- I’ll be hiding my key sans hid-a-rock.
I see a lot of 5 star reviews, and also a lot of 1 star reviews. This rock didn’t look very real, maybe it was the one I was sent. It could have worked since I planned on burying it a tad in the dirt so it was more hidden, but the sliding part of the rock was a joke lol I started the return very quickly.Oh well. Fake rock. I didn’t have the highest expectations but I did expect the thing to stay together. Simple gravity had the slidy door fall out every time I turned it upside down. Even a slight angle and it fell out.Really poorly made in the slidy door department.Sigh. Hey you can’t win them all and amazon is great with these kinds of returns.I would not buy this again or any fake rock now lol I am nervous they all suck. I may try again. But I also will probably just put my key in a baggie and bury that instead. Yep that’s what I’ll do.

I fixed all the problems with this PANGAEA Key Hider Fake Rock.
I liked the way the PANGAEA Key Hider Fake Rock was designed, but it sure could use some quality control at the manufacturing facility.I bought it to hide my keys but I could not get the door to open at all.The door was wedged in so tightly nothing was going to budge it!The slide out bottom door just did not fit the unit.I had to use a pair of pliers and a screwdriver to get it open. The inner lip that holds the door was not cut correctly.I could barely open or close the door because it's made so poorly. The door did not slide smoothly. It was not cut correctly for the opening. The paint looked like just light grey primer. So I repainted it myself, and now it looks like an official real rock.I reinforced the groove lips with Gurilla epoxy to get them sturdy and strong. Then, I went to work on the slide grooves with my Dremall tool and recut the grooves so the door slides in and out smoothly.I also coated the grooves with candle wax to give the door an easy slide in and out.Now it is a great hide key rockSure, it is not really waterproof. But if you coat your key with candle wax and use the supplied baggy, your key should survive most all types of weather.I would be hesitant to put one of those electronic key fob things in this PANGAEA Key Hider Fake Rock

Great to stash your "rock key"
Purchased this as a gift for a friend who kept locking herself out and kept a key under a porch ornament that often moved, exposing the key. This is a much better solution, as it looks like a rock mixed in with a few other rocks.

Looks like a real rock
I’m always afraid of getting locked out of my house. But now I can calm those fears because I have a hidden key. This little rock will hold one or two keys. It looks real, and when I put it in my flower bed, you can’t tell the difference between the real rock or the fake one. you can’t beat the price, so I definitely say get one, if for no other reason but for peace of mind.
