Any anniversary provides artists with the perfect opportunity to look back and review the experiences they've had. And, who realistically, could look back on more Heavy Metal history than Udo Dirkschneider, the legendary founder and front man of Accept, and now singer with U.D.O.? Dirkschneider's unique voice, his humbleness and consistency of style have made him the fan's favorite. A quarter of a century for U.D.O., and it is time to pop corks all over the world. Review: A gem of a product - If you are an Accept and/or U.D.O., or general metal fan, this 2 CD, 1 DVD Live in Sofia package is made for you. It starts out like a sledgehammer and rarely lets up. Plenty of power, but what raises it above many metal live recordings is the easily identified melodies and harmonies sprinkled throughout. They play a wide variety of tunes spanning the U.D.O. solo debut "Animal House" all the way through the most recent studio release Rev-Raptor. As a bonus some U.D.O. era Accept tunes are also included. The obligitory guitar and drum solo's are present, but are not too lengthy. I found the audience participation to be superb, as it seems to be frequently in Europe. The audience is obviously very much in to the event, and was very willing to be coached along when needed and in many cases just took off on their own, singing along. For me, the only time the audience thing dragged out too long was on the song, "Princess of the Dawn". This recording is extremely guitar heavy and a wonderful mix of top notch production and mixing. Very clear. Very precise. A great example of what a metal concert experience should be. This product was delivered in a timely manner and in good condition, as has usually been y experience with desertcart. Review: LIVE IN SOFIA 2CD DVD UDO - I Finally received my item after a very lengthy wait, 2 months and 3 days to be exact. I dont know what the problem was, But desertcart .com kept me informed about the delay. All I can say is my product finally arrived in perfect condition. And was worth the wait. This dvd is recorded with very High Quality picture and sound. This 2 cd and dvd set is worth almost double than what it sells for. This is definetly a must have for Udo fans. No dissapointments to report here,Just all around high quality. Very crisp and clean picture and sound. Also The camera angles are shot with accuracy and not alot of changing angles too much. This item illustrates how dvd concerts shoud be done. Thanks to UDO And the band for kicking out another very awesome dvd. One more thing, Udos voice sounds as good as it has from years past, espacially to be 60 years old.Keep it up udo. Thank You!!! R.H.

Nice span of Udo's Career
I enjoyed the CDs and DVD--I hadn't picked up many of UDO's later CDs (he's pretty prolific), so in preparation for seeing him live I wanted to know some more recent stuff. He's consistently good, somewhat formulaic, but it's very solid, catchy, hard stuff. His voice holds up well, and the band gets the job done, although significantly less spectacularly than Accept these days. Yes, it's a live CD, but the extended drum and guitar solos add very little, and could have been skipped. The song selection was pretty good, and he has some Accept classics, some early UDO, and some more recent UDO--a good reflection of his career. All in all, UDO still rocks.

Outstanding
Just a super great mix and awesome video. I was originally irritated that I didnt know there was a blu ray and I bought the DVD... but even the DVD looks fantastic... UDO sounds as great as ever. I do not know the UDO material as much as the Accept, but it all sounds great.... the guitar tone on this release just blows me away... very crips and crunchy and melodic... I watched it for about 20 minutes and then turned it off to go jam on my guitars because it just made me want to play... definite HELL of a bargain to get 2 CD and a DVD for the price! I wish more acts displayed this level of sonic quality!

U.D.O & the boys rock it loud and as good as anyone else out there. Too bad they aren't as big here in the States. Long story short, buy this, turn it up, whether you watching or listening. This Rocks!

U.D.O. - Live In Sofia DVD/CD
First of all i'd like to start by saying i love Udo's music, always been one of my favorites. I am however disappointed with this release. For the most part it's pretty good but definetly has it's flaws. The CD is the better of the two formats here, the overall sound is pretty good but there are parts where i hear some annoying distortion like they just bumped the levels too high. The set list is great except the ridiculous long and boring Guitar solo, 11 plus minutes, please, could have played at least two more songs instead of that but i guess Udo needs to take a break half way through the set. As for the DVD it's hard to watch for me. I hate the out of focus always moving camera effect i see nowadays so honestly i could barely get through the second song. Also the audio on the DVD isn't even 5.1 only standard 2.0 stereo. The other thing that was disappointing for me was it was not made available on blu-ray in the U.S., it obviously was filmed in hi-def so for it to not be released on blu-ray is unfortunate, it's 2012 DVD is dead. I think this is the first DVD i've purchased in the last 3 or 4 years and only bought it because i love Udo's music. Overall it's a nice package for the price but could have been much better.

¡Poder U.D.O! Espectacular concierto de esta banda. El gran fallo es que el DVD sea solo estéreo y no 5.1. Error imperdonable.

A 2cd/dvd combo of a full(2 hour 25 minute)concert. This is excellently recorded with a really crunchy sound, excellent separation of each instrument and a fine selection of songs, albeit with a bias towars his latest cd.I am not generally a great fan of this type of music and to be fair two and a half hours in one sitting is too much, however in bite sized chunks I really enjoy this and fans are going to love it.

Perfektes Konzert und toll von den Kameras eingefangen. Hut ab vor Dirkschneider und seiner Band.

Cofanetto acquistato il 6 maggio, ricevuto il 25 dello stesso mese. Confezione integra, pellicola protettiva. Prezzo discreto, poco più di 11€ (escluse le spese di spedizione), ma altrove è introvabile. Ottimo, come sempre, il giudizio sul venditore All Your Music. Stay Metal.
