This is not a one stop shop but can point you in the right direction. It really helps bring awareness to the amount of sugar in processed foods, If you use this as a starting point to eating healthier then it's a good resource, I followed the meal plan and also did yoga several times a week. I slimed down really quickly and lost 20lbs. I have been using the low sugar concept to continue to create healthy recipes and meals,

its a good guide
i have purchased several products written by jorge cruzand his knowlege and advise is incredible. Stick to what he advises you to doin his books for a complete lifestyle change because it works. This book hasa lot of information in and was a little more difficult to follow than his other weight loss booksbut it is more so the reader than the book itself. If your serious about permanent weigh lossJorge Cruz in my opinion is the best in the business.

Not worth the money
I live in London and despite the book being delivered from America it came within 3 days which I was really pleased about! What Jorge says in this book makes perfect sense, and it's extremely helpful how we went into more detail by talking about how insulin relates to the sugar and carbs. For these reasons I think it's a good book but I feel like the listing of all (American) items are pointless as I don't have access to most of these items as I am in the UK and also, all this information will be at the back of the food packaging anyway. I don't see myself using the book for this reason. The information in the start is quick and to the point, and the rest of the book to me is just a waste of money.

Pretty good book!
I found this easy to follow and understand. It does work and I have tried everything. If you adhere to only 15 grams of sugar and 6 servings of carbs per day, the weight does come off. I've lost 22 lbs. in 3.5 months. Not as fast as the book promises, but I have other health issues that cause me to release weight slower than normal. I do find the 6 serving of carbs limit a bit hard sometimes because I am a carb junkie. The sugar part is easy! You must read the labels on everything because unfortunately there is sugar in almost everything! Shop at healthier stores like Sprouts, Trader Joe's, Costco, Whole Foods, etc...to find products with low sugar. My fav snack is 25 Cheeze-it crackers with a Zevia Ginger Rootbeer on ice. Yum! Zevia is sweetened with Stevia with no sugar & no carbs. Cheeze-it crackers count as 1 carb & no sugar. Both are mentioned in the book. Also, Barbara's animal cookies have 5 sugars for a serving of 10. Great to satisfy the sweet tooth. Anything under 5 sugars per serving will not spike your blood sugar. Great book! Jorge makes it easy!!! Eating protein at every meal helps with the weight loss. Try Jay Robb's Whey Protein in chocolate that is sweetened w/Stevia for a chocolate shake treat by crushing ice cubes in shake. Another legal treat that counts as no sugar & no carb!

The pounds are dropping, I can live w/o sugar!!
I must lose weight, have passed that bad news number on the scale. This book clearly defines sugar and carb counts in comparative listings including what to avoid and what to be effective and enjoy in this awesome weight loss program. Very helpful when out to eat.I also like his other book Belly Fat Cure Discover the new CARB SWAP SYSTEM. I'm pleased with the recipes and explained alternatives for Not so healthy foods which produce the growing belly, may just deliver serious health problems, and typically may make you hungry rapidly!Very helpful book including recipes, yummy ones, to use on this diet. It does take a bit of determination and planning to start off running with knowledge of best foods to eat and poor eating patterns to avoid. There are pictures of substitutes for high sugar content foods, I'm ready to run those healthy alternative sugar product names through Amazon so I can have my cake and eat it too without adding belly rolls to the bod.Thanks for all the inspirational details in both of these books which are very helpful books together Jorge. Your encouragement in both books definitely gave me a good push! Lost three pounds and now on day 4! Can't wait for that flat belly!

It has a lot of info but too many classifications. Hard to find what you are looking for.

A truly helpful information source for a healthier YOU!!!
Initially I bought this book before I was diagnosed as Type 2 Diabetic. After my diagnosis I was trying to learn everything I could about taking better care of myself and learning about Carbs and all the foods that could harm my health. This book has it all and I especially like the breakdown of the various foods found in many of the chain restaurants and in grocery shopping. Since we are all tempted to eat out, diabetic or not, this book is invaluable helping me to plan a nice meal and stay within my carb restrictions. Also, the tips, exercises and food plans are excellent sources for just all around good health. I liked mine so well, that when my friend was also diagnosed not too long ago, I bought one for her and she uses hers in the same way as I and she is so pleased that I found it for her. Nothing can cure us but ourselves and this book is definitely on the right track. Thanks Jorge for helping so many of us in many different ways.By the way, by losing weight and following these suggestions, my blood sugar is averaging about 104 and I am not on any type of diabetic medication. I feel so blessed.

Not what i expected!
Possibly my own fault but this book is nothing like i expected. It gives carb / calories counts for hundreds and hundreds of what must be popular food items that can be bought in American diners etc. Im not American, dont use diners or restaurants much and dont recognise any of the food items / names listed. This is a complete waste of money for me!Cant really recommend it - possibly ok if you live in the States and want to loose weight while eating out all the time at diners etc!?

It works
Even though this was compiled for the American market, the basic food ratings are valid in England. The interesting part is the effect which sugar has on our bodies, in that it overrides our natural appetite cut-off and, of course, that there is so much sugar in fruit. Since cutting out white flour and sugar - including sweet fruit - I have watched my shape change.
