Product worked exactly as advertised! Very Happy with my Purchase!
Product worked exactly as advertised! I decided to go for this model as it seemed to be the best deal for the price range. I was originally going to buy one from the “95 series” in spring (~$125 then), but after waiting a bit the need for a scan tool came around again and this “96 series” had just came out. I took a stab in the dark with few reviews and I am very glad I did. The LCD screen is VERY NICE! After using the older Actron scan tools and other various tools over the years, the new LCD screen is a nice change. The battery charging monitor is very useful by checking initial voltage, cranking voltage and running voltage. The ability to see “Freeze Frame” data when a CEL pops up was useful and the ability to graph on the tool (while very basic on this model) could be something someone needs. I used this tool to track down the dreaded “0888 TCM Relay Feedback” error in my wife’s Stratus. By checking voltages, swapping relays and then finally adding a few jumper wires, the tool popped up a different error code which told me which wires were actually working (a hunch I had). I then went back in the car, found the source of the wiring problem with my Multi-Meter, re-wired the relay circuit from the TCM to the relay control center and then the problem was fixed! Probably saved well over $400+ alone on labor just to track it down! Very helpful tool, especially in clearing old error codes out and I was trying things 1 by 1. This tool (for me anyway) connected to the Engine Control Module, Transmission Control Module and SRS Air Bag Module on the following cars: 2004 Dodge Stratus, 2007 Chevy Cobalt and a 2011 Subaru impreza wrx. The tool also connected to the ECM of a 2015 Jeep Latitude. As of a few weeks ago, there was no firmware update for the tool. In addition, for most people, the lack of USB mini cable should not be a big deal. Most people probably have a bunch of these sitting around somewhere for cameras or phones they use or don’t use anymore. Could Actron have included this for the low cost of the cable? Probably… but for me, its not worth a rating deduction. Overall I am very happy with my purchase.

Very nice hand held auto scanner.
This is my third auto scanner (2nd Actron Unit). I have been happy with them all. I purchased this one to obtain more in depth information and live information. I connected the unit to my 2012 Tundra and had no problems navigating the menu and obtaining readings. The unit recognized my truck and produced the VIN without issue. I look forward to troubleshooting my 4Runner with this unit and will update this review with that experience later.

Decent bang for buck
Will do as it says, clear codes, and read some live data (02 voltage, tps and coolant temp, ect) this scanner helps in diaging things at home when a full blown scanner isn't avaible. Although it was not able to pull abs codes from my 98 crv, I'm still happy with it. The display is nice along with the user interface.

Simple Little 'Truck' tool.
A very nice, easy tool to carry around in your vehicle. Will it cut the mustard in a professional garage, probably not, but if you're on the road and need to diagnose your vehicle, it's very handy to have. If you can't spend hundreds upon hundreds, this one here will get you through. Cons: Mine didn't come with the appropriate USB cable to update the software. It's an older, larger one. But the device still knew my (and many other) vehicle out of the box.

Easy to use on many different vehicles....
It was very inexpensive compared to the same type of Auto Scanner a few years ago. It shows you all of the items that will "throw a code". You can use it to cancel the code, do your repairs, and test drive and check again. It has the ability to "draw'' graphs of different sensors while your engine is running. I've used it on two automobiles, a 2002 Chevy and a 2012 Chrysler. It has saved me buckets of money in Auto repairs!!!!

This thing is great for pulling engine codes
This thing is great for pulling engine codes, as well as viewing data in real time. Also has a function to clear current codes. I used to just take it to the auto parts store to have them pull codes for me, but this gives a lot more information than what you get from them. Do not pay a mechanic a “diagnostic fee” that costs the same as this tool! Save time and money, with the ability to get more details about the code.

Works for me
I picked this up after going on a recent 2k mi road trip. As I was heading out, I got a check engine light. My car is well-maintained and I try to keep up with the manufacturer's recommended maintenance schedule so I was taken a little a back when the light came on. I stopped by an auto parts store and discovered that my SUV's O2 sensor was having issues. While the car can be still driven with that check engine code, the car's gas mileage is affected. I ordered the corresponding 02 sensor. This autoscanner pays for itself. Don't let a dealer or an auto part store take you for a ride when it comes to your vehicle. It pays to do your due diligence. The device is easy to use and requires no batteries. It is powered by a vehicles OBD2 port. Thanks Actron.

Great tool for the price!
Used this to troubleshoot a 2006 Honda accord. Way better scanner than what I used at O'Reilly. Auto recognizes the vehicle. Worked to fix the problem on the Honda and now all my friends have used it on there vehicles now that I own one. Worked on Chevy Duramax, Chevy Silverado, Pontiac van, plus many more. I would buy it again. Would not be without it if you work on your own vehicles.
