DK Eyewitness Books: Ancient Egypt: Explore the Nile Valley Civilizations—from Colossal Temples

This is a great book to add to your library. The information and presentation is clear, well organized, and captivating. Wonderful photographs on every page, with good, thoughtful, easily understood, but not too dense explanations. We bought this and the Eyewitness Mummy book for a paper my 6th grader was researching. We continuously used these books as our main sources, and he got an A plus! My seven year old daughter loves to look through the books a well. We also have Ancient Rome, and Ancient Greece. This is a fabulous series. The CD Rom that comes with it is just photographs that are in the books... would be better if it was an educational video.. that was the only disappointment. The books also come with full size posters with "bite-size" information -- this was useful as we did our note taking and editing.

I purchased this book for my 3 1/2 year old son who for some reason loves the subject matter of ancient Egypt. This book is very sturdy for his little fingers. It also has excellent information that is easy to understand. The pictures are fantastic and he pours over them in his room, at Church, at Grandmas, at restaurants...you get the point. The book also came with a fold out poster and a clip art disc. The disc doesn't have a lot of information on it, but it is a good starting point to foster future interest. I will purchase this book as a gift for anyone (any age) interested in starting research in Ancient Egypt. Also other titles in this series are just as outstanding.

My 4 year old became interested in Ancient Egypt and I found this book. It gave just enough information on many topics to satisfy her questions and give a good overview. She loves the photos of the artifacts and has didn't hours looking through the book.

Great pic !! My grand daughter loves this book. It is well written with "loads" of information. Can be used as a reference book or for just the enjoyment of learning new information. The book gives us a true look into the lives of the leaders of Egypt. You will love this book for you or children.

This was the perfect gift for my 11-year-old son. He loves the DK Eyewitness books. This Book was his favorite from our local library, so I thought he might like his own copy. These are age appropriate books for middle-schoolers.

My toddler is obsessed with ancient Egypt. I liked that it had the least amount of references to mummification and canonic hard while still being super super informative. Great pictures but there is a real mummy in the book fyi

Got this for my Aspergers/autistic son, he is a lover of history, he can read books like this for hours. DK is a format that I love reading myself, it educates and entertains with facts and rich illustrations, DK is the best in my opinion

My 6 year old son loves these books - they are really fun for kids (and grown ups!). The pictures are lovely and high quality, and there is a ton of information in them. Highly recommend.
