The Little Mermaid (Two-Disc Diamond Edition: Blu-ray / DVD in DVD Packaging)

The movie itself is great, but this particular "Diamond Edition" of the movie is a waste of money. The set includes a digital copy, which comes at a significant additional cost yet when you try to redeem your digital copy, you are told that a digital copy is not available for this movie. The digital copy was 100% the reason why I even bought this particular item, so I'm pretty angry. Why is Disney selling a disc with a feature that is not even available???

I'm so disappointed. I ordered this for my kids because I loved it when I was little. We just got our popcorn ready and I put the DVD in only to have it skip and stop for ten minutes. Ultimately it stopped working all together after about 20 minutes. Thank goodness Netflix was able to save our movie night!

My daughter waited anxiously only to have her heart broken cause it did not play..luckily we got the bundle so shes ok for now with the other dvds. at first glance i thought it was a used dvd then it didnt work then i got worried,this dvd looked old or damaged looked cloudy(see pic)..compared to another dvd..over all dvd sleeve was great(pic)..looks like disney dvds..no inserts..the picture quality of other dvds are great,same buyer..had it worked i wouldve gave 5 stars. im returning n will be buying again hopefully the next one works.i will update review once new product arrives

I love this movie even named my daughter after this beautiful mermaid. But the quality of the dvd is poor, cheap and waist of money. I got a movie with a clean package looks like new and original. Turns out its not original. the movie stops at the beganing and then keeps playing but we have missed a few scenes. I pay $11 for this well i retured this money and i went to walmart paid more but at least was an originalMovie. You can even see a water spot on the dvds on the picture i posted. Dnt waist your money on this seller.

This is one of the top Disney movies to always watch no matter how old you get. I only wish the cover artwork was more like the original VHS cover or more like the 1999 dvd cover. Because they looked more like ariel.This cover looks nothing like ariel or Ursula. Only the colors looks like but not the face or ariel's hair. Ariel does not have curly hair and she does not have shiny fish fins. Plus Ursula has space between her lips and nose. This is the most horrible disney covers. To be honest the diamond edition blu ray covers dont look anything like the original artwork. The only one that looks like is sleeping beauty. I can't wait till little mermaid comes on 30th anniversary next year 2019. I'm hopping disney releases it again with a better cover and more bonus features as well as 4k and with original artwork like 2018 lady and the tramp blu ray cover. Disney is now getting a little better with original artwork. I'm for sure gonna keep this movie little mermaid diamond edition till the next release which hopefully will be next year.

When I first saw this film, I fell in love with Ariel; a smart, beautiful young mermaid with determination and resolve. She never gave up on her dream to be human. The song "Part of Your World" is still my favorite on the whole sound track; it captures my heart.Originally, the movie wasn't filmed in 3D. However, seeing it this way really brings out the characters more vividly than ever before! Despite the diminished popularity of 3D, I'm still a huge fan, and I really enjoy these movies tremendously.I highly recommend this movie. It's still fun for the whole family, even in this day and age!

I had this edition previously but lost the dvd so I ordered this one for my daughter, compared to the other prices this one was alittle less expensive but its definitly brand new and works just fine.

Everyone knows the story and I am sure most people who are purchasing this have already seen the movie so I won't be discussing the movie. What I will be discussing is the 3D conversion.First of all, the 3D version is kid approved. My little ones both enjoyed the 3D experience. As far as the picture quality goes, I was very impressed. I would give the picture quality a B+ to A-. The 3D was very nice and dimensional and in my opinion added to the movie. There were a few instances where, there was lots of motion on the screen and in those couple of instances, the 3D was distracting. The colors were vibrant and and the picture was very clean.I already own the Little Mermaid on DVD so the 3D version was the enticement I needed to buy it on blue ray.

Zum Glück habe ich die Rezensionen gelesen und mich schon gewundert, warum dieser Klassiker aus meiner Kindheit so schlecht bewertet wurde beim Online Streaming Dienst.Also gab es nur diese Möglichkeit, die Original Synchronisation aus dem Jahre 1989 zu erhalten und ich bin sehr zufrieden. Man kann sehr einfach im Menü auswählen, welche Synchronisation man wünscht.Auch während der Film läuft, konnte man wechseln.Für mich klare Kaufentscheidung, da die neue Version für mich überhaupt nicht geht.

Ich hatte Damals vor vielen vielen Monden als Kleine Süße Nervige Zicke die VHS Kassette die irgendwann mein VHS Recorder gefressen hat die Trauer war groß Mama hats gut gemeint und die DVD nachgekauft einmal gesehen und dann nie nie wieder weil plötzlich andere Synchronsprecher eingesetzt wurden das konnte ich mir nicht ein weiteres mal antun und somit habe ich meinen Lieblingsfilm nicht mehr sehen können ;(Dann startete eine Online Petition zur Neuauflage mit Originaltonspur !Ich war sofort dabei und unser sehnlichster Wunsch wurde erfüllt !Ich habe die Bluray sofort vorbestellt und bin überglücklich meinen Liebsten Disney Klassiker wieder sehen zu können auch wenn ich leider die anderen Teile nicht sehen kann/mag aber das ist mein neuer Alter Schatz ein stück Kindheit in die ich jederzeit wieder eintauchen kann !!!

So I thought we had a normal life before this film came into our lives, that's until it did. All of a sudden my daughter started trying to comb her hair with her cutlery at the dinner table, flopping in the bath tub like fish and then screaming "la-la-la, la-la-laaa" after putthing her to bed. Now she's singing about having legs and feet, and "walking around up there". After all this I personally think King Triton may have have had a good point.

DO NOT BUY! This is NOT a genuine Disney DVD copy. It is a fake. The biggest thing to me was that it looked off. I just couldn’t put my finger on it. So I opened it. 1. It’s in a cheap black box. Disney’s are always in a blue one. 2. The inside cover clearly looks printed. 3. There are zero Disney movie rewards or pamphlets on the inside and 4. The discs look horrible. Clearly poorly printed.

Let me tell you how hard I've tried looking for a brand new copy of this film for the last 3-4 years and I cannot find it ANYWHERE, so in the end, I came on Amazon to see if I could find a copy for a reasonable price and lo-behold, I found it. At first I was a little dubious, when it comes to Disney films, sometimes you may not always get such a good product cos they're very well sought after.But this one was of excellent quality-well, for the most part.The DVD case is decent and bright and inside you have 2 discs and even a little quiz/colouring card for the children-just like they used too years ago! It was a nice touch and gave me some nostalgia of my childhood :)The quality of the film is pretty darn good and with all the little extra features made this a fine viewing experience.The only downside that I could find, was the DVD did jump every now and then, but that was for only a few seconds at a time and didn't even last at all long, it just happened occasionally, so always check for any scratches on the disc beforehand just in case.I recommend this to anyone who loves or even has a special spot for the Disney classics. Like this film, I used to watch Disney films a lot whilst growing up and I'm not joking, but I have so many fond memories of each film. Every time I watch a different Disney film, not only am I experiencing something enjoyable, but it's also taking me back to the days when I was a child and thought everything was magical and wonderful.Disney films-like this one, can be viewed by anyone, so if you love the characters, the songs or even the animation, I highly suggest to buy this if you haven't done so already, it would also be worthwhile to buy 'The Little Mermaid: Ariel's Beginning' to watch AFTER this film, trust me, you'll fully understand why the characters act the way they do if you do watch it :)
