Anthony's Textured Vegetable Protein, TVP, 1.5 lb, Gluten Free, Vegan, Made in USA, Unflavored

My husband is sort of a "soy Phobic". and he didn't even notice that I substituted 1/2 the ground beef in chili with this instead. I am trying to lower the amount of cholesterol in his diet and this worked well. It does expand quite a bit so this bag will last a long time. Reconstitutes quickly too and texture is like ground bee. It absorbed the flavor of what I add it to.

Have made tacos twice... two different recipes. The recipe matters. My husband says he can't tell the difference between this and beef the way I've made it. It's amazing. Fat-free too! We are going to be eating a lot of this stuff... fat-free, plant-based protein... awesome! Tastes like what you flavor it with. Texture is just like burger in my taco recipes. It's probably cheaper than meat when it's rehydrated, but I found some half the price of this, but I have to fork out $115 for it... which I will... but this is a good value for the size bag.

This is an excellent product. The taste and texture are great, whether used in a recipe or for snacking on straight from the bag. With 12 grams of protein in a 1/4 c serving, it's easy to be sure you get enough protein in your diet. They are a small crumble, very similar to the size of ground beef. The cost is reasonable and the large bag is long-lasting. Overall they're a great value for the price.

I like Anthony's products, so when I was looking to add TVP to my pantry, I decided to just go with this brand--didnt even shop around. Textured protein crumbles take on other flavors, so it really makes for a nice "meaty" mouth feel if you want that vibe without actually using meat. I am not vegan or vegetarian, but I enjoy incorporating a lot of plant based options into my life, or even to cut into a meat dish (ie use a little ground meat, and use this to flesh it out, so to speak). I also like to make sure I have shelf stable options. I dont use soy products too often (thyroid issues), but I do incorporate them.These crumbles work well in chili, "meat" sauces, and even work well as part of a non meat hamburger, meatball, meatloaf base.Good amount of food from this bag. Get a good amount of protein and fiber. Main thing for me is the shelf stable aspect. No need to have something take up space in my fridge or freezer. With rising prices and lower availability, I want to make sure I still have options when I want them. Basic TVP such as this is a must have for me.

Wish it was more evident how grainy this is compared to most other TVP. It's like grains of sand, which is pretty tough to include in dishes.

This is a meat substitute made from soy flour. It looks like dehydrated hamburger meat. It is flavorless until you add the flavors you want. You Have To Flavor It. It is shelf stable and does not require refrigeration, although once I’ve cooked it and/or added it to my recipe, I refrigerate it. I like having it on hand for quick meatless meals.. you can use it however you like. Some suggestions I’ve seen it used for (but haven’t yet tried all of them) is sloppy joes, meatloaf, pizza toppings, baked potato topping, taco meat, spaghetti meat sauce, hamburgers, etc. It takes 10 -15 minutes to rehydrate with hot water. I don’t want to be without it. Besides being easy to use, it is a very good source of protein.

Great texture and mouth-feel. This is my go-to protein staple.

Arrived well packaged with the bag intact.I love having TVP on hand for things like taco filling and sloppy joes. This cooks up beautifully and doesn't even need to soak long to absorb a good amount of flavor.It's also a fantastic deal and just as good of quality as I've come to expect from Anthony's.
