OXO Good Grips Etched Coarse Grater, Orange

I’ve been using this grater for a few weeks now, and it’s quickly become one of my favorite kitchen tools! It’s ideal for grating a wide range of foods, including semi-soft cheeses, zucchini, onions, and even butter—basically everything I need for cooking and baking. This OXO good Grips orange zester is a very good product. This product is nicely made to hold at an angle with one hand and doesn't slip while zesting the large naval orange with my other hand. I really do like that it comes with a plastic guard to cover and protect the blades. Just be very careful when zesting the orange so that you don't accidentally knick or cut your fingers/knuckles because the blades are really sharp! Also I love that it is colored a nice orange and black, it stands out. It is exactly as pictured here on Amazon. Easy to wash and clean. Not bulky. Very happy.I recommend this product to anyone who is seeking an excellent orange zester. It came in handy when trying to bake "healthy Morning Glory Muffins". The companion to the larger OXO coarse cheese grater, this small model is also an etched grater that produces a fine shred quickly, but is uni-directional instead of bi-directional like so many graters these days. Like most any food, grated cheese begins oxidizing the moment it is shredded, so the flavor of cheese shredded from a brick is really much better than buying from a bag. This is perfect. The size, the flatness, the ease of cleaning it, and the way it fits in your hand. I have used it with parmesan, and also with mozzarella for single dinners. It does a very fine shred but i actually prefer that to thick so it works great for me.

This thing is great. Easy to use, sturdy, sharp, etc. But I noticed this week that it’s cracked along the edge in two places. So far it hasn’t affected its use, but the yellow part is going to fall off at some point. It’s pretty inexpensive, but would have expected it to last longer than two years.

I love the wide head on this! Works well with hard cheese and chocolate. Great quality. Comfortable to hold and easy to clean.

Didn't want a box grater as they're big and bulky. OXO items are usually overpriced, but this coarse grater is not a bad deal. It's exactly what I was looking for. Compact, easy to clean, and very sharp -- grates like butter, baby! Grips to the counter well, and grates quickly. Quality materials that will hold up well over time. Recommended.
