Awesome lil alarm clock!
I love this alarm clock. It's exactly what I was looking for ... it's the perfect size for my night table. Yes, the numbers are bright but I sleep sideways on a king-size bed and all I have to do is slightly tip my head and I can read them. I'm planning to buy a second one for my other night table. It all comes down to personal preference ...

Very Good Clock
I had the previous version that lasted at least 27 years. How I wish I bought 2 at the time. This one is similar, but there was nothing like the original. The knobs are bigger on top. My first one, the on and off switch broke, but I was still able to slide it. I hope this one is the same. I am trying to be careful, but with plastic, you never know. After my Original one broke for good, I had a temporary replacement that I hated. It was overly bright and did not have a Snooze button....No Snooze Button !!!....Forget it. I could not wait to get this one. It is not as Bright as the last one with no Snooze button, but I guess they are all that way now, brighter. But it is good for me because I can see the time without my glasses on. I miss the Original Alarm. This one is annoying with the different beeps, but, it gets me up eventually within 1/2 hour...does the job so far. It is well packaged with screw on feet attached to the box...amazing...I do hope it lasts a long time because it is very affordable and the last one was so reliable.

Don’t buy
The only thing it has going for it is the retro look . It is way too bright at night . Will turn the whole room red

Old style aesthetics without old-style robustness or industrial design
I purchased this as I wanted a small, digital clock that could be placed on a shelf and read across the room. As I only needed a basic, robust clock I wanted a old-style unit that would last. As this is a "name-brand" and appeared in the ad to match what I had in mind I got it. It's not quite what I expected. It's lightweight, and feels a bit flimsy. I'm not using the alarm but the switch feels cheap, the buttons are fine. It uses a AA battery and not a 9V for battery backup, and the fit of the door was poor. It is *BRIGHT*, the other reviews about that are spot-on. I noticed it humming this morning, the transformer is visible through vents on the bottom and is of clearly cheap construction.Basically this clock is value-engineered to the minimum and is not as robust as it's ancestors. I don't expect it to last. Way too bright for a bedroom, I even think it's too bright for my living room. The cost is too high for this level of value-engineering.Apparently the Westclox factory burned down in 2012. Pay no attention to the name, the name you remember died over 10 years ago.

Retro cool with some caveats
I didn't need to buy this alarm clock. I already had a perfectly good one. It just looks so damn cool. The overall look and design is straight out of the 60's and I'm here for it. The eye-singeing, non-dimming display is very easy to read despite not being very large. I keep this on my headboard, but if you have it facing the bed on a nightstand, it might be a little too bright. The controls are pretty nice, with good ka-chunking buttons. I like that you can set the hour and minutes independently instead of needing to "scroll" through the time. I also dig the toggle switch to turn the alarm on and off. However, there's a quirk that might turn off snoozers like myself: the snooze button is on a rocker that also has the alarm set/on/off button. It's VERY easy to accidentally turn the alarm OFF instead of snoozing and I wish the whole button were the snooze. If I want to turn the alarm off, I just use the switch. After about a month of use, I feel like this keeps better time than my last alarm clock, which ran a little slow.

Compact alarm clock
Very basic and easy to use alarm clock. Display is bright and clear. The unit is small and fits anywhere. Has a battery backup for power failures, however, during the power failure, none of the features work but all are saved and when the power returns, everything is as it should be including the time. Does not have a radio, alarm is a chirping sound.

Not loud enough / very quiet
Love this clock bc it reminds me of the simple clock radios in my house when I was a wee boy.Got it and it’s way smaller than you’d think. Okay, that’s cool more room on the night stand.Simple and easy to set time and alarm. Perfect. But the alarm is so quiet. Laughable quiet. I tried the alarm right away to see how it sounded and literally laughed when it went off.Had to let yall know before you were late for work everyday haha

Clock is compact; just what I was looking for.
Great little clock; doesn't take up much space; only wish it had a dimmer switch!
