Whitmor Double Closet Rod - Heavy Duty Closet Organizer- Chrome

Worked like a charm and helped me gain a ton of room in my closet. Obviously, there’s no real installation time. Hang it and carry on. For me, I used it on a rack not high enough for shirts to hang. I needed a place for purses and travel organizers taking up valuable space with my clothes. I can’t attest to weight capacity as I haven’t heavy items on it. The length makes it easy fit. I could use 2 more on the same clothes rod because of its length but, I don’t want to have to reinforce the original rod due to extra weight. Problem solved for about $15 and 5 minutes. You can’t beat that.

Easy to hook together, seems strong, and is nice to look at. Gives my grandson another 1/3 space to hang clothes.

This rod is an excellent way to create additional space in an overcrowded closet. I use it to double the handing space available for shirts and cardigans. It loops easily over the existing closet pole and feels study and durable once loaded with clothes. My only wish is that the side poles were 2-3 inches longer to accommodate all my tops; as it is, I have to be careful which ones go on the original pole and which ones go on this extender rod. It would be perfect for kids clothes, and for closets that don't have a lot of height. Excellent addition to my closets!

I hung this rod in my office room closet that is used like an overflow closet for my whole family. It has all sizes in it, from my 3 year old son and 6 year old daughters, plus some of my husband and I's clothes. It has been a huge help in expanding space, and the capacity of clothes this closet can hold. It does hang a little long, but it does still hold a men's pair of jeans without touching the ground. It is perfect for pants, or really any little kids clothes. I wish I had bought one of these years ago when my kids were babies and I had a ton of their little clothes that were hard to fit all on one closet rod. It is wider than I thought it would be, but it is perfect and really holds a lot of clothes. I didn't even pack it tight, it could hold quite a bit more clothes that what is hung on it in my picture. The first one I ordered was missing the rubber coating on one of the hooks that helps keep it from slipping, so I called Amazon customer service (the one I bought was sold by them). They were very helpful, apologized, and sent me another one with one day shipping. The second one was perfect. Thats what I call customer service! I am very glad I bought this closet rod, it has helped my spring cleaning & organization efforts immensely. I will probably buy more for my other closets. Just make sure to measure the width of your closet if you have a skinny closet to make sure this will fit.

This double clothes rod is a great quality item. I love clothes and I have too many crowded together. So, I bought this one and was amazed at the quality. On my upper (regular) rod I had slacks, short sleeve & long sleeve blouses & sweatshirts crowded together. This rod was very easy to assemble and holds 42 long sleeve blouses & sweatshirts. Quality rod! Hint: When I first put it it I put the open side of the hook towards the wall. It seemed that the clothes stuck out to far into my walk-in closet. So I turned the rod around so the open side is out towards the middle. I think it gave me about an inch or so more. One little negative, my husband doesn't want one on his side because he doesn't want to have to bend down. You really don't have to reach far....doesn't bother me at all!

When I received this item the directions said to pull the cap off on the end of the bar to put the hooks through. No matter how hard I tried I could not twist either cap off the bar. I took a wrench and held cap with wrench and twisted using all of my might and they still didn't budge. Finally I had to take a pair of heavy duty scissors and cut the side of the cap so I could get it off. Once I set up the bar it was awesome. It added a ton of space in my closet and it looks SO much more organized and efficient. The value is good too. It's just too bad the caps were on way too tight to get off.
