Did not come with instructions on how to create the loop around a tree branch, but was simple to figure out. The rope does stretch under weight, but hold well without creaking.

Looks great. Strong and easy to use. Purchased to hang a hammock between two old Maple trees. I like thinks old fashioned. Gives the appearance that my hammock is being hung with old period rope.Very happy with my purchase.
