Great!
I’m very pleased with the quality of this saffron. It has a slightly different scent to the box of Spanish saffron I’ve been using but still wrong and rich. So nice to have a big enough tin to be generous with it when cooking at a reasonable price. I would buy the same again. However I really struggled to get the tin open and thought I might have to puncture it and find another container for the saffron!

Good value - but not top notch
Perfectly OK for general kitchen use, but I get a sense that the product is a little old. Both scent and flavour were lacking. Colours rice etc quite nicely.

Amazing Afghan saffron!
This is really good quality saffron, probably the best I've ever used. Superior to Iranian saffron, which was a surprise to me. This saffron is intense in colour and flavour, you will need far less than you're use to using! Will buy more as Christmas gifts as the packaging is very nice. Thank you!

Beautiful
Beautiful fragrance, colour and flavour. Brilliant in pilau rice. As others have pointed out the tin is very hard to open but it is very good looking. It would be pretty enough to give as a gift for someone who loves to cook this cuisine.

Very well selected without any yellow leave which people use to do to make it heavy for money. I love the flavour and colour ... Just I struggle to open the pack, but very professionally pack in tin not to expose it to light

Very disappointed to have paid a little extra for quality but received very dried out saffron with an off-brand name and more importantly, an extremely weak flavor.

Die Gourmetia Safranfäden in Premium Qualität haben mich vollkommen überzeugt. Diese 5-Gramm-Packung ist ein wahres Juwel für jeden Feinschmecker und Hobbykoch. Was mich besonders beeindruckt hat, ist die Echtheit des Safrans. Der von mir durchgeführte Natronlauge-Test bestätigte zweifelsfrei, dass es sich um echten Safran handelt - die Lösung blieb schön gelb, genau wie es bei hochwertigem Safran sein soll. Die tiefroten Fäden sind von gleichmäßiger Farbe und Länge, ein Zeichen für sorgfältige Auslese und Verarbeitung. Der Duft, der einem beim Öffnen der Packung entgegenströmt, ist einfach betörend. Das charakteristische, leicht süßliche Aroma mit einer Spur von Heu ist intensiv und verspricht kulinarische Höhenflüge. In der Küche entfaltet der Safran sein volles Potenzial - er verleiht Gerichten eine wunderschöne goldgelbe Farbe und ein unvergleichliches, edles Aroma. Die Verpackung ist hochwertig und schützt den kostbaren Inhalt optimal vor Licht und Feuchtigkeit. So bleibt die Qualität lange erhalten. Gourmetia Safran ist zwar nicht günstig, aber jeden Cent wert. Die Premium-Qualität und die bestätigte Echtheit rechtfertigen den Preis vollkommen. Für alle, die Wert auf höchste Qualität und authentischen Geschmack legen, ist dieser Safran eine absolute Empfehlung. Un safran de bonne qualité. Gourmetia est une marque recommandée par Marmiton. N'oubliez pas la règle pour tout safran en pistil : le faire infuser plusieurs heures avant dans un peu d'eau tiède et le mettre en cuisine au dernier moment

Ho imparato ad apprezzare questa spezia da anni e sono ormai abituato ad usarla in diverse situazioni. Si sposa magistralmente con tutti i piatti di riso, conditi sia a base vegetale che con carne o pesce, da evitare solo il pomodoro che ne copre il sapore. Arricchisce creme e minestre di verdure, specie quelle con zucca, zucchine, funghi e asparagi, le stesse ideali per un risotto. Anche un semplice petto di pollo al limone diventerà una pietanza speciale se aggiungiamo appena un poco di zafferano alla fine. In alcune occasioni può essere miscelato insieme alla curcuma, che esalta anche il colore giallo. Ancora, può essere aggiunto alle spezie del cous cous, sempre previa infusione. Ma è buono anche nei dolci, il limite è solo quello della fantasia. Per il suo uso l' ideale è lasciarlo in infusione in acqua calda a 50/60 gradi per diverse ore prima dell'uso, eventualmente scaldando l'acqua più volte, e aggiungerlo solo alla fine senza farlo cuocere. Triturarlo con un coltello affilato o, meglio, pestarlo inserito tra due fogli di carta forno, accorcia i tempi e consente di usarlo anche all'ultimo momento con breve infusione. Ma veniamo a questo di zafferano. È buono e fa il suo dovere, anche se non presenta l'aroma complesso ed elegante di un buon prodotto italiano, che però costa assai di più. Bisogna aggiungerne un quantitativo leggermente maggiore, circa15/20 stimmi a porzione (sono piuttosto sottili), ma rimane davvero economico, con il miglior rapporto qualità/prezzo che mi sia mai capitato. Conservato chiuso nel suo bel contenitore in un luogo asciutto, si manterrà anche per due o tre anni e addirittura di più, perdendo gradualmente solo un poco del suo aroma. Davvero soddisfatto, lo ricomprerò sicuramente, il prezzo mi consentirà di usarlo con felice leggerezza. Un saluto.
