works fine with official lego bricks, but as other reviewers have noted, some of the plates are slightly warped. Looks to be as a consequence of being stacked or having something else loaded on them in storage, but there is a 'rise' in the middle of them. This does mean they can be a bit fussy when trying to join them together using other smaller plates while attempting to get them to stay in place. Probably not an issue if you are going to stick them to a permanent board or similar, but we've got them layed out on a rug, so it is noticeable, particulary for the join point between 4 of them. Still, they do the job, are half the price of the official product (which is now replaced by the new style) so would buy again.

Basically two flat pieces of plastic to sit your lego on. Think they are overpriced for what they are, but they were the cheapest that i could find. They do a job though so no complaints there i suppose.
