Sun Joe SBJ803E 14-Amp Walk Behind Indoor/Outdoor Corded-Electric Vacuum Blower + Mulcher

Our Palo Verde trees dump a huge amount of flowers on our artificial grass every year. We've always cleaned it with a rake and dry vac (which has been back-breaking work). Unfortunately, we couldn't find anything designed specifically for artificial grass. Even though this didn't say it would work on artificial grass, we decided to give it a try as its mulcher is internal and it works just like a vacuum (nothing sharp to tear the grass). We are so glad we tried it. Not only was it easy to set up and lightweight, it swept up the flowers like a champ. So very worth it.

Though the power of this unit is good, the bag design is not. Within the first few weeks of use the bag blew apart rendering the unit useless. As other reviews said, the bag has a faulty design. It is made out of a polyurethane type material like the promotional bags at banks and stores. It does NOT hold up to the force of the incoming air and debris. I contacted SunJoe right away for a replacement bag only to learn they have none. After waiting on hold for 3 hours only to be disconnected, and chatting online for another 2 hours only to be told to contact them via the customer service line, nothing was accomplished. I tried calling again and left my number for a call back. I missed the call! Virginia from SunJoe left a message asking if I would accept a new unit since they had no bags anywhere. She instructed me to call her back or send an email. I tried calling back but was put in the phone cue for hours so sent an email This only generated an automated response with yet another ticket number. I tried sending numerous other emails but they just result in additional ticket numbers. No human seems to monitor this. It has been almost two months now and today I tried calling all of their numbers again only to be disconnected after the message. I cannot even find the chat box. This unit performed well on my deck when the bag was intact. It is VERY loud so be prepared for that if you go ahead and buy it. Consider it a disposable item since you most likely will get no customer service or replacements from the company when it breaks.....and it will.

I bought this because a walk-behind looked like it would be good for my back (severe scoliosis). The vacuum comes in three sections, the motor, the base and the bag. The machine is flimsy plastic and the sections do not easily line up to "snap" into place. Unfortunately, when you slide the motor onto the base, the plastic necks are shallow, so when you tighten the two set screws to lock the sections into place, the screws do not hold the machine together. While I was vacuuming my (paved) driveway, the machine fell apart. Later, when I removed the collection bag, the machine came apart again. As for performance, the vacuum was fine for loose leaves but clogged up when I got into some wet leaves on the edge of the pavement. Overall, the vacuum worked ok cleaning up my paved driveway, but my hand-held blower/vac did a better job without the annoyance of the device coming apart. I did not use the machine on my lawn because of the uneven surface and damp leaves. On the positive side, it was easier on my back and was better to use on dry, blowing leaves. I am going to use it anothee3r time before making a return decision.

I utilize this ONLY TWICE SO FAR AND IT IS DOING A GOOD JOB THAT MAKES MY ARTIFICIAL TURF, putting green , fringe and rough look great!It takes time and wish it would take a wider path and pick up as well as this unit seems to be doing.I’m nervous that the collection bag HOLDS UP TO DUST AND DEBRIS GOING INTO IT!Lots of dust blows through it creating a VERY DUSTY JOB ABD COLLECTION BAG HAS STREES LINES IN IT LOOKING LIKE IT WILL RIP AND-or tear in those spots....TO BE CONTINUES AND UPDATES AS I FIND MORE TIME TO UTILZE IT TO KEEP EVERYTHING LOOKING BEAUTIFUL AND NICE TO PRACTICE CHIPPING & putting on!!!

This worked out very well. The leaves were wet and so I mowed to mulch them first and then vacuumed (and mulched) afterwards with the Sun Joe. It picked them up easily. Was able to fill a 32 gallon can vs 3-4 bags. Well worth the price. I was going to try on the dry leaves this week, which are still falling, but my neighbor raked them up! Can't complain about that.

If you have trees with small leaves, this instrument should be OK. I have oak trees with big leaves. The leaves get stuck. I have to turn it off constantly to flip it over, stick my hand in the business end and unclog the jammed leaves. It will pick up one or two leaves at a time, but any more than that and it clogs. On a paved surface it is OK. On the lawn, the wheels are not far enough apart to give it stability. I would not buy this again, given the amount of leaves and the vast grass areas that I have.

I had sent in a letter explaining my poor experience with the product. It was less effective than than a broom or rake to remove Magnolia leaves and took much more time than working with a blower, rake, and broom.When I came back from a long trip, I tried it, and was terribly disappointed with its performance. However, I have tried to return it and am stymied because of the time period. As a gift and opened only after I returned, I am told I can't.This doesn't sound like the Amazon Customer Service I have come to expect and appreciate.Please intercede in this return for me and my husband Patrick, who is always purchasing through your Amazon Prime.

I have the neighbors sycamore leaves to cleanup each year that all blow into my yard. This product IS NOT EFFECTIVE ON BIG LEAVES. Don’t buy if you’re using it for big leaves. It is fine with smaller leaves.
