Good value for the money
This is a wireless range extender. Unlike the purely wireless ones, this connects to your network via a more reliable wired MoCA/coax connection. If you don’t already have both, this isn’t for you. If you have an internet provider with special hardware demands, this may not be for you. It’s also MoCA 1.0, so it’s top speed is about 100Mb/s, so if you need gigabit, this isn’t for you. In general, if you don’t have a very basic grasp of home networking, this isn’t for you. However, if you already have a MoCA setup, don’t need gigabit internet in your area with weak coverage, and don’t mind a bare bones user interface, these are a teriffic value. I need gigabit in my office for work, so the office gets a MoCA 2.0 setup. I’m only streaming/surfing upstairs in my bedroom, so this adapter provides more than enough internet bandwidth to cover that area. If you keep in mind its limits, this is a great little range extender at a solid price point.

Good affordable solution
The router/extender works great. I’m impressed considering the affordable price. I bought the bundle kit which includes a coaxial splitter, short coaxial, and a Cat6 cable. The splitter was lightweight, felt cheap and rattled like it was broken internally. When connected, the MoCa signal was very poor. Luckily I had a quality splitter that works great. The coaxial cable was lightweight and cheap too but it works fine. The Cat6 seems like a good quality cable. My only additional challenge was that the connection instructions label on the router itself had the wrong IP address so I had to go to the Actiontec website to look up instructions. After that it was easy: log into the primary router administration to find the Actiontec actual IP address, copy and paste that into a new browser then good to go.In closing I’d probably recommend purchasing JUST the extender for $16 and picking your own high quality cable components separately instead of this $27 kit where you’re getting questionable quality connectors for $11 more. They should improve the quality of the bundle components and include a MoCa filter.

This is not a kit with instructions, cables and splitter, only the device, base stand and power adapter. Device not bad, though
As the other one star reviewer stated, this is not a kit with instructions, cables and splitter. It is just the device, base stand and power adapter. If that's all you require, check around Amazon and you'll find that for sale for $10 or $12. Better than what this is selling for, no?. I suppose that the seller gave Amazon a product description and provided them with the inventory and Amazon didn't check to see if the two matched. Hey Amazonians, you could fix this.As for the product, itself, I didn't connect this one up. I didn't even remove it completely from the box when I noticed stuff missing, I just returned it. I also purchased a few of the $10 ones without the giblets and they work just fine. I ponied up the extra $18, here, for the extra stuff and figured Amazon just sent the wrong thing. But, no, the item is mismarked on the box and misadvertised.. And the extra stuff is available from Amazon for way less than $18, but I was just lazy and hoping for some instructions. For instructions, you'll have to hunt around the internet and it doesn't hurt to have some knowledge of MoCA and Actiontec's implementation of it. Overall, though, pretty simple plug and play in most circumstances. If you're intrepid and clever, this is a pretty good deal for $10 to $12.

Great value. Works well enough.
Have a wi-fi router at one end of our place in MBR (no way to relocate to middle of home) , smart TV at the other end in Living Room, concrete ceilings and floors, no way to route Ethernet cables in between. Living room LG TV picked up both bands of wi-fi from router but stuttered on 4K Netflix or Prime Video. Also, no fast Ethernet available at Living Room location.I bought this unit for less than $25, and without ever having even seen one before, had it up and working within 10 minutes. Great little box!I removed the coax cable from the Tivo Mini which was attached to the Smart TV, plugged an Ethernet cable from the Actiontec to the Tivo Mini, changed settings on the Tivo Mini to use its Ethernet Port to connect to the main Tivo DVR instead of the MOCA connection and finally, connected another Ethernet cable between the LG Smart TV and the Actiontec's 2nd Ethernet port.Ran speedtest on the TV and now getting about 70Mbps; zero stuttering when 4K streaming. For $25, it is a great value. The reason I give it 4 stars rather than 5, is because even though it is a huge improvement over previously available wireless speed, it is actually quite a bit slower than my actual wired speed. I have a 300Mbps LAN speed. The Actiontec reports a MOCA Network speed greater than 270 Mbps. If I plug directly into the Ethernet ports on my main Docsis Router, I get close to 300Mbps, so on this wired connection over MOCA, I am losing about 230Mbps! Even the wireless network in the MBR is over 200Mbps. At the end of the day tho', I am satisfied with the improvement gained for the cost.

Simple and cost-effective for FIOS.
If you have FIOS, this is probably the simplest and most economical way to extend your wireless reach. It creates a direct link to the main router so there are no intermediate devices to traverse and I noticed an increase of response versus multiple Ethernet switches/access points. Setup is simple, especially if you do not already have another device connected to the coax where you want to place it. Just screw in the coax and power it up. In about 1-2 minutes, it automatically connects to your main FIOS router. In my case it did NOT duplicate the settings of my main router. Rather, it created two new SSIDs, which I changed to make more friendly and consistent with my naming conventions. Note that documentation is sparse. Default SSIDs and passwords are on a sticker on the device. It was relatively easy to make the changes to SSID and passwords. You need to find the address of the device on your main router and then address it with a browser. You do not need to be connected to the device to make admin changes.
