Angelus Leather Preparer & Deglazer 5 Oz

I used it to remove original dye staining from my cowboy boots in preparation for re-dying. It worked like a charm.

This is a great product for changing the color of leather boots. I picked up a pair of Vietnam era black paratrooper boots at a flea market in June, they are just the size for my grandson. He is a WWII enthusiast at 11 following me , do you believe it? The boots were black and now brown, because as we all know the USArmy was the brow boot/ shoe army. Good product.

Angelus is the best hands down. If you need to take off a leather finish this is for you. It is the first step to painting an already finished leather item. You will not be disappointed by any of their products!

Estoy usando este producto para poder empezar a ponerle diseño en mis zapatillas con pinturas y sí que hace la difefencia, cuando la usas antes de empezar a pintar en el resultado final se ve muchísimo y mil veces mejor a como a cuando no la usas.

Works as intended. Easy to apply when working with leather sneakers -- I just rub gently with cotton balls, using cotton swabs for the detail areas, until the shine has dulled a bit. The only reason I don't give this five stars is I have had just as much luck with nail polish remover at a fraction of the price, and longevity does not seem to be affected, so I'm not sure this is worth the additional expense. However, it certainly does the job. In all, you can't go wrong with it, but there may be a cheaper alternative that is just as good.

Arrived on time and worked perfect to change the color of my husband's shoes.

We wanted to change the color of two of our three vinyl-covered kitchen stools from orange to teal. (Used the Preparer and then 5 parts Turquoise, 1 part Brown and finished with the Matte Finisher.) We're happy with the results! I think the Preparer is necessary, but I think the Finisher was pretty unnecessary. Pros Beautiful color and adhesion. Super easy. No cracks. Never comes off on clothes (I worried!). Cons The finish still is shiny, not matte as you can see the difference in the orange (old) and teal (new). The surface is a bit stickier than before and has only improved slightly over the six months we've tested out. Note that we also applied a leather conditioner over it at the end because we read on the Angelus site that this can help that tacky feeling and it may have helped a little. If I had to do it all over again, I definitely would, but I'd wait a good few days between coats to see if that helped the overall tacky texture (not sure it would). The color is exactly what we wanted in the kitchen and the old orange one is in the office now.

The product is excellent because it does not damage the leather but rather prepares it for dying you just need to be patient and wait for it to dry off after you’ve glazed at least a few hours before you try

Works really well however, the size purchased was far to small fir ny leather arm chair. Worth purchasing, but would advise to buy a bigger one.
