Have purchased this item as an additional one when I already have 2 smaller ones, analogue and digital. This item seemed to be reading low temperature so I compared multiple occurences with my existing ones. Was reading 110C when the 2 others were reading 150C, or frying oil was over 210C when this one only read 120C. Something is off with it, very disappointed with my purchase.

Great product at a great price.

This pair of thermometers accuracy seems to be accurate. You get a meat thermometer and a deep frying thermometer. They both work well. The meat thermometer is a little hard to read the dial. I had to put my glasses on and I used a flashlight to illuminate the dial so I could read it. The deep frying thermometer stays cool enough to touch. The meat thermometer probably is as hot as the temperature you're cooking at, so I would use a pot holder on that. This is a good deal for two thermometers and would recommend them.

I bought this thermometer because I was tired of holding a digital thermometer over a pot of hot oil to get the temperature when frying. Plus I wanted something that could sit in the pot so I could easily see the temperature at all times. This thermometer definitely does that, and its the perfect size for a dutch oven type pot or other similarly sized (height wise) - I was considering the 12 inch, but glad I stuck to the 6 inch. The thermometer is great, easy to read and I like the clip it comes with to put it on the side of the pot. The clip isnt the strongest, but you can tighten it by hand or with a pair of pliers, and once you have it on the pot you dont have to worry about the thermometer falling. It did come about 10 degrees Fahreneheit too low, so I had to calibrate it, but that was easy with the nut underneath. Many thermometers need to be calibrated, so that should not be surprising and is completely normal.

Great for deep fry. Works quite quick on steak. Probably great for a bird, have not tried that yet
